New, exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a high growth, leading Agricultural Biotechnology business with excellent facilities, a collaborative culture and great growth potential.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance and Accounting, the Financial Accountant will play a key role within the finance team, which is responsible for the group consolidation, external reporting, and other key financial analysis. This is a newly created role, on a 12-month fixed term contract, due to recent company growth.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of first-time group accounts for recently created group as of FY2024
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure that consolidated external reporting, including the financial statements, are reviewed and filed within deadlines.
- Liaise with local accounting sites and foster an environment of continuous improvement to the close, consolidation and reporting processes.
- Supporting an internal finance systems project.
- Maintaining and preparing of all disclosure schedules in accordance with UKGAAP reporting.
- Communicate effectively and build strong relationships throughout the organization.
- Continuously develop the use of reporting tools to drive efficiency and ensure accuracy and efficiency of the consolidation and reporting process.
- Supporting on other ad hoc duties/projects which may arise at the direction of the senior finance team.
Requirements
Essential
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar position, post-qualification in CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification.
- Strong technical knowledge of Group accounts under UK GAPP
- An international mindset – Tropic employs over 20 different nationalities and Tropic has expanded to a international group.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

- Able to efficiently handle and maintain confidential data and records.
- Demonstrated analytical and communication skills.
The use of Oracle NetSuite is an advantage but not essential.
Understanding of IFRS within a group setting is desired but not essential.
