Chief of Staff
Major Function: The Chief of Staff (COS) to the President & CEO will play a pivotal role in driving the organization’s mission forward. This position involves strategic planning, project management, and facilitating communication between the CEO, internal colleagues and key external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a passion for climate and nature issues, strong leadership skills, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Support: Manage the CEO's priorities, ensuring focus on critical issues and optimal use of time. Act as an advisor to the CEO, providing insights and recommendations on key business decisions. Represent the CEO in meetings and make decisions on their behalf as appropriate.
Project Oversight: Manage and coordinate high-priority initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timely execution.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships with the Board, partners, grantees, and other colleagues.
Communication Management: Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports ensuring effective communication of key messages. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the CEO, senior leaders, and other stakeholders.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Gather, analyze, and present data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Executive Office Management: Manage the office of the CEO, including budget, staff, and its operations.
Meeting Coordination: Organize and facilitate meetings, including agenda preparation, follow-ups, and action item tracking.
Team Development: Support the leadership team in building a cohesive culture, promoting collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred. 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in a management role within the nonprofit, government or philanthropic sector. Experience in climate, nature, or sustainable development is a plus.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000
