THE ROLE
As Embedded Software Development Engineer, you play a vital role in the development and improvement of our product. Working with external contractors, you are responsible for the end-to-end development, testing, and improvement of our software.
YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY
Developing embedded software for STM32-based products or similar embedded platforms
Developing software for new Skytree products, keeping in close touch with R&D and engineering teams, while considering external customers’ requirements
Coordinating work packages and documentation with external teams
Improving, debugging and maintaining embedded software for various hardware features and peripherals such as sensors, communication interfaces and power management
Participating in code reviews to maintain code quality, consistency, and best practices within the embedded software team
Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including design documents, API/Library documentation and release notes
Ensuring that software development complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements (functional safety)
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
5-10 years of programming experience in C, C++ for embedded systems
Minimum HBO/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
Proven experience with embedded software development and IoT solutions, preferably with STM32 or similar microcontrollers
Experience with bare metal programming and with RTOS (e.g. FreeRTOS)
Experience with testing software on hardware and being able to use oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeters and other generic lab tools
Knowledge of low level communication interfaces/protocols like SPI,I2C, UART, RS485, CAN
Understanding hardware schematics/datasheets and layout designs
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Experience with protocols such as MQTT, HTTP is a plus
You are based in the Netherlands within commuting distance to Amsterdam
