<p>MITRE&rsquo;s newly established environmental sustainability initiative is intended to meet our business needs without sacrificing or compromising cultural, social, or environmental resources. Our vision is for MITRE to be at the forefront of sustainability practices, serving as a leader in testing and developing innovative solutions and technologies, and informing more equitable solutions to whole-of-nation sustainability challenges. <p>We are looking for an energetic learner who is organized, detail-oriented, and dedicated to sustainability monitoring, reporting, and improvement. As a Sustainability Specialist, you will be part of the Sustainability team, working across global operations and supply chains to scale solutions. This role will support the implementation of MITRE&rsquo;s Sustainability Management Plan, with a primary focus on the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory and responsible sourcing. You will collect, analyze, and interpret data on energy consumption, waste management, GHG emissions, and procurement. This role will conduct research on best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory requirements in sustainability and identify opportunities for improvement. You will contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidance that align with sustainability principles.</p>
<h2>Primary Tasks/Responsibilities</h2>

Sustainability Specialist

<h2>Position Overview</h2>
<p>This Sustainability Associate position is supported through an innovative partnership between Puget Sound Energy and Strategic Energy Innovations. Aimed at addressing the myriad of energy and environmental sustainability initiatives, this Fellowship model presents a distinct opportunity to shape energy efficiencies and sustainability practices across sectors and institutional roles.</p>
<p>At the core of this program is developing the next generation of thinkers and doers to help address sustainability in higher education settings. Roles in educational sustainability require a distinct combination of aptitudes including project management, data analytics, and community development. In addition to the Climate Corps training and professional certificate, this position offers professional development opportunities designed to help provide the range of skills necessary to execute sustainable programs or practices.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The candidate will work on pressing climate and sustainability problems and be relied upon to work toward replicable solutions. A customized mix of on-the-job training, fieldwork, and class time will help the Fellow hone marketable skills and draw important professional connections while making a marked difference in the campus community.</p>
<h2>Role and Responsibilities</h2>

Sustainability Associate

<h2>Position Overview</h2>
<p>The Association for Energy Affordability (AEA) West Coast is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven fellow to join our talented database team. This role will assist our database team by participating in program-specific discovery and strategic planning meetings, assisting with solution implementations, scrubbing and uploading assigned data sets, and creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, and other data visualization tools. While we would prefer a fully on-site fellow for this role, a hybrid position may be considered requiring at least 2 days a week in our Emeryville office for a 7-hour workday. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications, and is an excellent starting point for someone interested in learning or further developing their skills in Salesforce or database administration and being a part of a team that is involved in the energy efficiency and green building industry.</p>

Junior Database Fellow

<h2>About Community Energy Project</h2>

<p>Community Energy Project (CEP) provides free home services focused on safety, health, and energy efficiency. We provide free community education and supplies, as well as direct home energy upgrades and repairs. All our services are made possible by partnerships with community members and service organizations, utilities, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.</p>
<h2>Position Overview &amp; Description</h2>
<p>Data is how we tell stories: to decision-makers, the public, and internally. The data we gather and how we gather it speaks to our priorities as a climate justice organization. The Program Data Fellow is going to support one of CEP&rsquo;s four strategic priorities of using quantitative and qualitative data that is representative of the communities we serve to inform our advocacy work, program design, and program delivery.&nbsp;They will do a deep dive on the way that CEP gathers, reports on, and responds to data we get from our community. They will analyze the way we currently track data, conduct a variety of cross-departmental analysis, and learn about equity metrics.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Fellow will also gain field experience in data collection and analysis by collaborating with CEP staff at the many points where data is collected: At inception (new program design), delivery,&nbsp;documentation, analysis, and utilization internally and externally. This will allow them to not only have a hand in direct service but to understand how data is collected and utilized in order to be effective through analysis. The Fellow will also work with the Executive Director and Engagement Manager on our strategic planning goals around data. Occasional evenings and weekends will be required, as this is how we work directly and best serve our communities. This Fellowship will average 40/hrs week and for weeks where evening and weekend work is required, hours can be flexed during the day/time. This Fellowship is available as a hybrid role with an estimated average of 2-3 days a week needed in the office or in the field (dependent on project needs). If desired, the Fellow may use the office 5 days per week.</p>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>Organizational Capacity:</strong>&nbsp;Support CEP&rsquo;s priority of developing data-driven strategy by reviewing, documenting and analyzing current data practices. Exploration of new ideas such as a data charter, new databases, and community involvement. CEP currently utilizes a mix of Acuity, Salesforce, Google Drive Docs and Sheets, Community Services, and program-specific platforms such as The Oregon Community Solar participant management system.</li>
<li><strong>Program Support:</strong>&nbsp;Oregon Community Solar, Climate Resilience Workshops, Direct Home Install programs including but not limited to shadowing staff in these positions to understand data collection process and client management, gaining direct field experience, collaborating on solutions to streamline processes for data collection, and researching and suggesting updates to current processes.</li>

Program Data Fellow

<h2>About The Pacific Northwest Center of Excellence for Clean Energy (PNCECE)</h2>
<p>PNCECE is a statewide and regional resource that represents the interests of the energy industry and labor partners within the Washington State Community and Technical College system. We exist to narrow the gap between employers&rsquo; demands for a highly skilled workforce and the colleges&rsquo; ability to supply work-ready graduates. We convene industry and labor to help drive workforce development initiatives &mdash; and coordinate community college resources after industry and labor set the direction.</p>
<p>Our work focuses on employees within electricity generation, transmission, and distribution, which includes energy efficiency and smart grid; and the emerging technologies that affect the industry &ndash; such as battery and bio-technologies, fusion, hydrogen, solar, and wind. <h2>Position Description</h2>
<p>The Climate/Energy Education Fellow will support PNCECE hosted at Centralia College and collaborate with wide-ranging project partners in Lewis and south Thurston counties to support sustainability workforce development pathways that, 1) educate, promote, and facilitate energy initiatives in K-12 programs, 2) facilitate higher education faculty engagement with topics such as building efficiency standards policy, environmental science, clean energy, HVAC and more, through communities of practice, and 3) provide internship opportunities to residents, and high school and college students 18 years of age and older. This innovative programming supported by SEI and the Climate/Energy Education Fellow is designed to create a skilled workforce that will be employable through high-wage clean energy and energy efficiency job opportunities in the region and state.</p>
<p>The Fellow will be supported by SEI, a regional supervisor, and the director of the Pacific NW Center of Excellence for Clean Energy.</p>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>

<li>Assist the Center of Excellence and local stakeholders in organizing the summer FWEE/STEM program (week of June 24).</li>
<li>Promote training opportunities and resources for high school teachers and recruit participation in the program (Lewis and South Thurston counties).</li>
<li>Assist with recruiting college faculty into the Energy Community of Practice and support program logistics (administrative tasks)</li>
<li>Promote the renewable energy classes in Centralia HS and WF West (on campuses)</li>
<li>Promote careers in energy at outreach events (such as the Lewis County Fair with LC PUD)</li>
<li>In coordination with SEI staff and local high schools; create, launch, and facilitate an energy conservation competition plan between two schools.</li>
<li>Identify partners and site supervisors, such as at Centralia College and Centralia College East, to host two internship opportunities (SEI is the liaison for those interns)</li>

<h2>About The Pacific Northwest Center of Excellence for Clean Energy (PNCECE)</h2>
<p>PNCECE is a statewide and regional resource that represents the interests of the energy industry and labor partners within the Washington State Community and Technical College system. We exist to narrow the gap between employers&rsquo; demands for a highly skilled workforce and the colleges&rsquo; ability to supply work-ready graduates. We convene industry and labor to help drive workforce development initiatives &mdash; and coordinate community college resources after industry and labor set the direction.</p>

<h2>Position Overview &amp; Description</h2>
<p>Buildings are the most rapidly growing source of greenhouse gas emissions in Washington state. In 2019 the Washington Clean Buildings bill was signed into law and later expanded in 2022. The objective is to lower costs and pollution from fossil fuel consumption in the state&rsquo;s existing covered buildings and multifamily buildings. The law also provides incentives to encourage building owners to make energy efficiency improvements earlier than required.</p>
<p>In Lewis County, there are 66 Tier 1 buildings of 90,000 square feet or more that are required to meet the Washington State Clean Buildings Standards by 2027. Currently, building owners lack knowledge and information about free services available and the implementation steps needed to ultimately have their facilities comply with the standard. The Building Energy Efficiency Fellow will undertake an outreach and building performance scope to support Lewis County building owners&rsquo; efforts to meet the WA State Clean Building Performance Standards. Additionally, this Fellow will be working with local utilities and their customers, including Centralia College, to support their efforts to comply with the new state law.</p>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<p>With support and guidance from multiple technical partners, the Building Energy Efficiency Fellow will&nbsp;undertake a building performance scope and help craft a work plan to support Lewis County building owners&rsquo; efforts to meet the Clean Building Performance Standard. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Outreach to building owners including&nbsp;creating and&nbsp;providing resources with information regarding compliance, timeline, mapping, incentives&nbsp;and materials to share with their building occupants.</li>
<li>Direct resource support to aid building owner compliance, including: Assistance with gathering data to identify building Energy Use Index (EUIs) and EUIT,&nbsp;creating a package of templates for documentation that sites are required to submit for compliance, and offering remote support to organizations in completing their required documentation 4-6 hours per customer for up to 20 customers.</li>

Do you love gardening or being outdoors?&nbsp;<a href="https://www.seiinc.org/" target="">SEI</a>&nbsp;is seeking emerging education professionals to join our&nbsp;<a href="https://www.climatecorps.org/cceo-fellowship.html"><u>Climate Corps Education Outside</u></a>&nbsp;(CCEO) AmeriCorps cohort to advance science and eco-literacy in public elementary schools by activating school gardens as a learning laboratory for environmental education.</p>
<p><strong>CCEO&rsquo;s program objectives are to</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Spark children&rsquo;s interest in science</li>
<li>Increase children&rsquo;s environmental stewardship knowledge</li>
<li>Develop children&rsquo;s connection with the natural world</li>
<li>Improve children&rsquo;s attitude towards vegetables</li>

<p>CCEO is an&nbsp;<strong>11.5-month,</strong>&nbsp;<strong>full-time (40 hours per week)&nbsp;</strong>fellowship program starting on August 19th and concluding at the end of July. This program offers emerging environmental educators extensive professional development and training as they advance outdoor science education in Bay Area public schools. While we encourage Fellows to continue the Fellowship for a second term to provide a level of consistency to our school partners, it is not required.</p>
<p>As a CCEO Fellow, you will be placed at a public elementary school and serve as the garden educator of that site. Fellows teach 10-16 garden and science lessons per week on Mondays through Thursdays to students in grades K-5 in the on-campus outdoor garden classroom using the provided CCEO curriculum. Fridays are designated for cohort-wide training and site administration. You will also maintain the outdoor garden classroom and work to engage the larger school community in the space. As part of a cohort of approximately 30 CCEO Fellows, you will participate in a year-long training and professional development program designed to support you in your role. Over the summer, you will work to improve curriculum and program resources, maintain your outdoor classroom, and participate in other program projects. Work site locations include North/Western San Francisco, &nbsp;South/Eastern San Francisco, Northern San Mateo County, and Southern San Mateo County.</p>
<p>CCEO Fellows serve a high percentage of low-income children and many English-language learners. Fellows must be committed to social justice and have cultivated or be willing to cultivate a lens of cultural humility, intersectionality, and belonging. While the field of environmental education has a long way to go, we strive for equity and inclusivity for Fellows, program staff, schools, and students.</p>

<li>This position requires prolonged activity with bending, stooping, and stretching; eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate garden tools, a keyboard, a telephone, a photocopier, a calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to communicate with students as well as maintain data records. Also requires flexibility to readily adapt to a changing environment.</li>
