We enable homeowners to confidently make the switch to modern, electric technologies and get their homes off of fossil fuels – all at once, or over time.</p></div><h3>About The Role</h3><p><strong>What you would be doing:</strong> Our Account Executives, or "Home Comfort Advisors", are the first point of contact for homeowners, guiding them through the electrification journey. They consult with customers to understand their needs, introduce products, design custom systems, and close deals. By setting clear expectations and ensuring a seamless handoff to the Project Manager, they play a critical role in delivering exceptional service and creating satisfied, informed customers. Other responsibilities include though are not limited to:</p><p><strong>Big Things:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage the Entire Sales Pipeline: Own the customer journey from initial contact to signed contract, ensuring a smooth handoff to the Project Manager.</li><li>Understand Homeowner Needs: Consult with homeowners to identify their goals for comfort, energy efficiency, and electrification, tailoring solutions to meet those needs.</li><li>Build Relationships: Foster trust and rapport with homeowners to address both current and future electrification needs and generate referrals.</li><li>Design and Sell Systems: Create personalized electrification plans, introduce products and financing options, and close deals with homeowners.</li><li>Set Clear Expectations: Educate customers about project timelines, the installation process, and expected outcomes to build trust and confidence.</li><li>Hit Sales Targets: Use effective sales strategies to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue goals.</li><li>Actively perpetuate an inclusive, equitable, collaborative working environment in which psychological safety comes first.</li></ul><p><strong>Little Things:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide Feedback: Share insights from customer interactions with internal teams to improve sales materials, scoping practices, and product offerings.</li><li>Refine the Sales Playbook: Help develop and implement best practices for consultations and system design to improve the efficiency and quality of the sales process.</li><li>Ensure CRM Hygiene: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, leads, and pipeline status to ensure transparency and alignment across teams.</li><li>Stay Current on Products: Continuously learn about new electrification technologies and rebate and incentive options to offer homeowners the best solutions.</li></ul><p><strong>What you won’t be doing:</strong></p><ul><li>Cold emailing prospects pitching products and services they aren’t interested in.</li><li>Marketing strategy, campaign management, and lead generation.</li><li>Supervising installation teams or managing post-sale project delivery. </li><li>Supply chain management, sourcing equipment, or negotiating with vendors.</li></ul><p><strong>Timeline for role expectations:</strong></p><ol><li>Within one month, you will:</li></ol><ul><li>Understand both heat pumps and building science, as well as the Elephant Energy sales process and our customers journey.</li><li>Begin to lead initial sales conversations with homeowners.</li></ul><li>Within three months, you will:</li><ul><li>Design projects and present proposals to homeowners, with oversight.</li><li>Close your first deal.</li></ul><li>Within six months, you will independently manage a pipeline of homeowners, design projects with minimal oversight, and deliver presentations autonomously.</li><li>At one year, you will be pitching, designing and closing projects on your own, and supporting the growth and success of other members of the sales team.</li><p><strong>Success in this role looks like/can be measured as: </strong></p><ul><li>Meeting / exceeding gross margin and revenue goals.</li><li>Cultivating customer relationships that lead to five star Google Reviews, NPS promoters, and raving fans. </li><li>Contributing to our knowledge base and improving our processes.</li><li>Advancing the adoption of heat pumps!</li></ul><h3>You're a great fit for this role if you have:</h3><ul><li>Experience in customer-facing sales or consultative roles, ideally in industries like smart home technology, HVAC, energy, or home services. Experience in related fields such as architecture, construction, building science, energy efficiency is highly desirable.</li><li>A proactive, self-starter mindset, with a proven ability to take ownership and deliver results independently.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills; you thrive on connecting with people in various settings (phone, video, in-person).</li><li>The ability to manage competing priorities effectively while adhering to deadlines.</li><li>A growth-oriented attitude, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technical concepts like building science, financing, and project management tools.</li><li>A track record of using data, CRM tools, or systems to optimize processes and drive exceptional outcomes.</li><li>A passion for solving climate change and enthusiasm for working in a mission-driven company.</li></ul><h3>Indicators this may <em>not</em> be the right role for you:</h3><ul><li>You require highly structured processes to guide your daily activities and struggle with ambiguity or dynamic environments.</li><li>You are uncomfortable with self-directed learning or engaging with technical subjects like home electrification or building science.</li><li>You find face-to-face customer engagement or handling objections challenging and prefer behind-the-scenes roles.</li><li>You are not comfortable balancing multiple responsibilities, like managing a sales pipeline while coordinating with internal teams to deliver on customer expectations.</li><li>You lack interest or experience in working with consumer-focused industries that prioritize in-person service delivery.</li></ul><h3>Total Compensation</h3><ul><li>Annual base salary of $70,000-$75,000 with commission opportunities that provide for on target earnings of $120,000+</li><li>Stock options, commensurate with experience and in line with internal equity bands</li><li>Medical, dental insurance covered at 75% for employees</li><li>401k with 6% company match</li><li>10 company holidays and unlimited Paid Time Off (vacation &amp; wellness/illness) </li><li>Home Electrification Incentives</li><li>Flexible, hybrid work environment</li></ul><p><br><strong>Location</strong>: <em>These positions require in-person work in Los Angeles, CA.
