Director of Manufacturing

Pyka is looking for an experienced reliability engineer to oversee the testing and validation of the aircraft’s subsystems.You will oversee all aspects of hardware test/validation. On a day-to-day basis this will involve working with the mechanical design engineers to devise test plans and validation campaigns for their hardware. In addition, it will involve executing on those test plans with the help of test engineers, technicians, as well as design engineers.Your work will have an enormous impact on the success of Pyka’s transition from prototype builds to serial production. In this role you will work directly with key decision makers at the company who will look to you to set the direction on a hardware test/validation. Your work will be prioritized and budgeted for. Both vehicles are highly economical to operate, easy to deploy, and significantly reduce C02 emissions in their respective industries. What you work on at Pyka makes people’s lives better now and brings the future of electric aviation one step closer each day.  Responsibilities<ul><li>Analyze flight logs to identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues </li><li>Analyze fleet data for performance evaluations </li><li>Improve the company’s data analysis tools </li><li>Interface with field Flight Operations teams to troubleshoot and collect additional test data </li><li>Identify and escalate trends in fleet performance and issues </li><li>Support engineering teams with building or maintaining efficient data analysis and troubleshooting software tools </li><li>Work with engineering design teams to improve subsystems and controls of the aircraft </li><li>Define required tests and analyze data to validate issue resolution and design changes </li><li>Establishing diagnostic procedures and maintain a test/troubleshooting guide </li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Information Technology </li><li>1-3+ years experience with data log analysis for hardware and controls systems </li><li>Talent and excitement for thorough troubleshooting </li><li>Experience building data analysis tools in Python </li><li>Comfortable with Linux </li><li>Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships across the company </li><li>Independent and motivated, with an extremely strong work ethic; able to self-direct and manage time </li></ul>Bonus Qualifications<ul><li>Experience with C++ </li><li>Experience with electric autonomous aircraft </li><li>Experience with remotely supporting vehicle troubleshooting </li><li>Experience with hardware testing and validation processes </li><li>Hands-on experience with vehicle hardware </li><li>Experience with Linux &amp; Python-based programming systems for fleet-level data processing </li><li>Experience with software that interfaces with hardware </li></ul>Company Perks<ul><li>$90,000–$130,000 per year base salary + equity. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
