You also might already love electric trucks, or at least be open to seeing what they are all about!<h3>What You’ll Be Doing</h3><ul><li>Design, implement, and test backend services within the Synop platform, primarily focusing on the Billing and Network functions</li><li>Continuously improve the structure and function of the codebases you are working on, always seeking to leave things better than you found them</li><li>Collaborate with other engineers across the team to support one another in solving problems and implementing new design patterns to benefit the platform as a whole</li><li>Code review for other engineers on the team, providing thoughtful and attentive feedback to improve code quality for everyone</li><li>Engage with Product and other teams to plan, scope, and discuss projects, providing your expertise around implementation options and tradeoffs to arrive at the best solution</li><li>Support customer success to identify, mitigate, resolve and prevent bugs for users, always seeking to both improve resiliency document process to help reduce issues in the future</li><li>Leverage AI and other automation tools to increase velocity, improve quality, and deepen our attention to detail in our work</li></ul><h3>What You’ll Bring to the Role</h3><ul><li>Strong programming skills in Java and Spring (experience with Typescript or Python is plus)</li><li>Deep hands-on experience with AWS (CDK is a plus)</li><li>Experience with scalable backend architecture (a plus if you’ve been hands on in a startup growth phase)</li><li>Experience with time series databases (e.g. Timescale) and event driven architectures (e.g, SQS, Kinesis, etc.)</li><li>Past experience working with Stripe is a plus</li><li>Strong bias towards automated testing by identifying high value and meaningful test cases</li><li>Good understanding of and attention to security best practices</li><li>Intentional usage of AI tools, knowing how and where to use them to accelerate your work effectively without jeopardizing quality</li><li>Strong written communication and documentation skills</li><li>Strong verbal communication and willingness to share ideas, receive feedback, challenge others’ assumptions and be challenged yourself in service of the best possible outcomes.</li><li>Customer orientation, seeking always to prioritize what maximizes value to our customers&nbsp;</li></ul><hr>

You’ll partner closely with the Director of Engineering and play a key role in people management, engineering efficiency, and system health — all in support of building enterprise-grade systems for the electric future. <h3>About Us</h3>Synop is building the platform that powers the future of commercial electrification.
