Spark e-Fuels is a climate tech start-up tackling aviation’s significant environmental impact. Spark focuses on the problems of limited availability and high cost of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) by developing integrated e-fuel SAF production systems that can be connected to lowest-cost renewable electricity directly. Spark’s technology is based on proprietary load-flexible e-fuels production processes to achieve lowest-cost and scalable e-fuels production.
Spark developed a €20m demo plant project together with corporate and academic partners, in which it will build the first off-grid e-fuels plant producing on-spec SAF. In parallel, Spark prepares the scaleup of its technology to the first integrated e-SAF production plant in the 40 MW range.
