The Southern Environmental Law Center is seeking a new Recruitment Manager in either our Charlottesville, VA or Chapel Hill, NC offices. This individual will join our Human Resources team and report to SELC’s Director of Human Resources. The Recruitment Manager will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to execute and refine full lifecycle recruiting processes, getting the opportunity to have a direct impact on the diversity of talent joining SELC. With a strong understanding of recruitment best practices, techniques, and technologies, they possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, enabling them to foster positive relationships with candidates, stakeholders, and team members. Their adeptness at prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment ensures efficiency and effectiveness in achieving recruitment goals.  &nbsp;SELC has a hybrid work model that offers employees the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week.&nbsp; This is a full-time, exempt position. Employment is contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check.&nbsp;&nbsp;<h3>Primary Responsibilities:&nbsp;</h3><ul><li>Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans aligned with the organization’s strategic plan. &nbsp;</li><li>Lead full lifecycle recruitment processes, in partnership with hiring supervisors, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selecting qualified candidates for various operations departments within the organization. This includes document management, evaluations completion, and candidate communication. &nbsp;</li><li>Conduct additional targeting recruiting efforts through online searches, networking, and relationship building with peer organizations. &nbsp;</li><li>Partner with HR Director and Legal Recruitment Manager to develop and deliver training for interview teams to reduce bias and ensure consistency in process across candidates and departments. &nbsp;</li><li>Administer and manage all applicant tracking system (ATS) processes. This includes monitoring user profiles to ensure confidentiality, creating custom reports, processing system updates, and customizing fields to mirror our evolving process. As changes occur, host regular training sessions for new staff involved in hiring and existing teams who need a refresh. &nbsp;</li><li>Partner with the Legal Recruitment Manager to create scalable hiring processes that support the organizational goal of increased diversity in our applicant pools and staff demographics. This includes documented processes and clear communication to internal and external audiences. &nbsp;</li><li>Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies, job boards, and other vendors to augment talent acquisition efforts as needed.  Limited responsibility for contract and invoice management.&nbsp;</li><li>Proactively seek out opportunities to streamline and optimize recruitment processes, equity, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. &nbsp;</li></ul><h3>Required Qualifications:&nbsp;&nbsp;</h3><ul><li>5+ years in high volume full-lifecycle internal recruitment environment.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Comfort with up to 10 open requisitions at a time in a fast-paced matrixed organization.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage daily hiring operations and long-term strategic projects.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent organizational and communications skills.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work in both virtual and in-person environments.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Wide breadth of recruitment experience with a diversity of skill sets/positions.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrated comfort with technology and proficiency with ATS administration, maintenance and improvements. Recruitment Manager

The Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) is accepting applications for a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Washington, D.C. office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful, nationally recognized organization that is effectively addressing some of the most pressing and challenging environmental issues throughout the South and the nation.&nbsp;The principal responsibilities of the Legal Administrative Assistant are to provide support to the attorneys in the office and perform and coordinate administrative functions. This support will fall into two main categories. The assistant will have a full range of legal support responsibilities, including court-related filings and research tasks. In addition, the legal assistant may assist with various administrative duties to ensure efficient and well-organized office operations.&nbsp;&nbsp;SELC has a hybrid work model that offers employees the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. &nbsp;<h3>Primary Responsibilities:&nbsp;</h3><ul><li>Provides legal support to SELC attorneys, which may include preparing and submitting court filings in state/federal courts and FERC, preparing and submitting comment letters to federal and state agencies, researching local court rules, calendaring deadlines, proofreading and editing written materials, and other litigation support tasks.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains digital and physical files including pleadings, transcripts, memos, and correspondence, computes and calendars court deadlines.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepares and submits Freedom of Information Act requests; tracks receipt.&nbsp;</li><li>Assists in the collection and review of documents and records obtained through public records requests, including authoring summaries or memoranda. &nbsp;</li><li>Handles discovery in litigation in e-discovery software; experience with Logikcull a plus.&nbsp;</li><li>Conducts factual research utilizing a variety of resources including internal records, newspaper and media sources, scientific reports, government websites and social media; and then uses the findings to prepare spreadsheets, graphs, charts, and summaries.&nbsp;</li><li>Produces professional-level research and writing.&nbsp;</li><li>Processes and tracks consultant invoices.&nbsp;</li><li>Handles various administrative tasks including booking travel and submitting expense reports.
