ABOUT THIS ROLE Day to day work involves a wide variety of tasks. Each day will be different, but this role will provide exposure to a wide variety of experience and topic areas throughout the small and growing business sector in developing countries. From organizing roundtables on the role of Development Finance Institutions in providing early stage capital for small businesses to building learning journeys for Entrepreneurship Support Organizations to implement evidence based best practices, to designing sector research on the impact investing landscape, ANDE’s work touches a broad spectrum of subjects and stakeholders. This role requires some established expertise in at least one relevant area and a curiosity and eagerness to learn the rest. This role is part of the Leadership Team and oversees the crucial function of building the capacity of a Global team of 40 to implement grant funded projects successfully across our global footprint at various levels of complexity. From single country projects that last six months to global multi-year initiatives across all of our 8 regions, ANDE staff need to have the tools, processes and guidance to achieve their project deliverables, manage their budgets effectively, and make sure projects are tailored to serve ANDE network members well. The successful candidate will be able to draw from years of experience directly managing large scale projects and also be an effective mentor, trainer and partner to less experienced staff to learn by doing. This role will directly supervise all 100% project funded roles (fluctuates between 3-5 staff currently) and coordinate the whole ANDE team who are involved in project implementation. Building systems to ensure effective coordination of complex projects and accountability for every team member to play their role will be crucial to success in this role. This is a hybrid position, with a minimum of two days per week in the DC office. The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $145,000. The salary for this position is $24/hr. Our team is in Washington, DC and currently working in a hybrid fashion. The selected candidate will need to be in the Washington, DC area and able to be in person for the full term of their fellowship.The Fellowship Term will begin Late March/Early April 2025 and conclude October 2025. WHAT YOU WILL DO <ul> <li>Under the management and supervision of the Aspen Strategy Group Fellow provide a wide range of administrative and logistical support in preparation for various meetings, namely the ASG Summer Workshop; ASG Rising Leaders Program; Aspen Security Forum; and the ASG’s track II dialogues.</li> <li>Attend meeting sessions and take thoughtful, substantive notes on the discussions.</li> <li>Generate conference materials and manage detailed information vital to conference planning.</li> <li>Draft correspondence for communications with meeting participants and outside vendors (e.g. invitations, memos, thank you notes, summary documents, etc.)</li> <li>Conduct background research and maintain active knowledge of current foreign affairs.</li> <li>Proofread and edit written materials and publications.</li> <li>Assist in the writing of ASG briefings, summaries, statements, grant proposals, and reports.</li> <li>Curate content for the ASG Twitter handle, LinkedIn account, and the weekly newsletter</li></ul> WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO THRIVE <ul> <li>An undergraduate degree is required, and a master’s degree is strongly preferred.</li> <li>Office experience, especially in events management, is preferred but not required.</li> <li>Meticulous attention to detail is essential.</li> <li>Ability to work as a team player within a small-team environment; ability to multi-task and take initiative in problem-solving; strong work ethic, with a keen understanding of protocol.</li> <li>Excellent communication and writing skills.</li> <li>Must be able to work under pressure, handle stress, and manage competing demands/priorities.</li> <li>Proficiency with, or easy ability to learn, tools such as WordPress, Canva, Twitter, iContact, Wix, and event registration/survey tools such as Wufoo.</li> <li>Outstanding knowledge of and strong academic record in the field of international relations, political science, economics, or a related field, along with a long-term interest in working in the field of U.S. foreign policy and/or national security is essential.</li></ul> HOW TO APPLY All interested applicants must submit the following:1. ABOUT THIS ROLEWe are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Live AV/Events Producer and Editor to join our team. This role combines expertise in live event production, video editing, and digital content management. The ideal candidate will play a key role in producing high-quality live events, editing event-related content, and managing uploads to our YouTube channel to extend our audience reach. This role reports directly to the Director, AV/Events. The salary range for this role is $72,500 - $85,000. WHAT YOU WILL DOLive Event Production<ul> <li> Oversee the end-to-end production of live events, including pre-production, technical setup, and live broadcast execution. </li> <li> Coordinate planning of A/V services before an event, ensuring key setup and scheduling information is shared and any issues are flagged for discussion </li> <li> Provide onsite management of A/V vendors during events, leading troubleshooting and coordination with other staff and vendors on site </li> <li> Ensure post-event A/V deliverables are received in the format requested, are of sufficient quality and are uploaded and archived properly </li> <li> Serve as the liaison to the Communication team or video production, livestreaming, and video download issues related to Aspen Institute events </li> <li> Develop and execute run-of-show documents, cue scripts and production timelines in coordination with our vendors and your supervisor </li> <li> Provide occasional A/V assistance for staff-only meetings and events in the Institute offices. </li></ul>Video Editing/Producing<ul> <li> Edit live event recordings and other media into polished video content, ensuring high-quality visuals and audio. </li> <li> Manage and operate LTN Global broadcast equipment in a studio at the DC Office. Oversee the scheduling of network live shot reservations for this service on behalf of the Institute </li> <li> Conduct on-camera interviews or shoot footage as needed </li> <li> Assist with the archiving of video files, retrieval of files as needed for communications purposes and delivery of video files to internal and external customers to meet mission objectives </li> <li> Setup and operate all video and audio during live shoots and/or manage setup and operation of live shoots </li></ul>A/V Equipment and Maintenance<ul> <li> Participate in the annual review of A/V equipment and infrastructure in the DC office, providing feedback to the Director of AV/Events on suggestions for replacement, upgrade, and maintenance </li> <li> Manage audio/video equipment in the LTN studio </li> <li> Assist with management of audio recording and production equipment in the studio and provide technical assistance as needed </li></ul> WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO THRIVE<ul> <li> Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; 3-5 years relevant work experience. </li> <li> Experience delivering audio visual services and managing equipment routinely used to support live events; experience managing live productions or experience managing multiple simultaneous production. Experience with events and productions in high pressure environments with VIPs is preferred. </li> <li> Strong customer service, leadership, and organizational skills, with an emphasis on time management and the ability to plan, organize and implement various activities within a time-pressured environment. </li> <li> Project management and communication skills required. </li> <li> Experience shooting, editing, and producing video for broadcast and the web, and managing other content capture, including audio and photography </li> <li> Ability to set up camera, lights, microphones and shoot video interviews </li> <li> Experience editing video using Adobe Premiere and other non-linear editing software. Adobe Creative Cloud skills a plus. </li> <li> Knowledge of common digital video formats, compression methods, video capture, encoding and hardware required.
