In this role, you will handle daily financial and accounting tasks in support of the Elemental mission. Your main duties include running accounts payable, reconciling accounts, preparing spreadsheets, building/maintaining databases, compiling reports, and preparing and maintaining financial statements. Ours is an operational support team within the organization that will ultimately be expected to improve the organization’s internal satisfaction and efficiency. This position will report to the Controller. The role will play a key role in the financial reporting process and be tasked with ensuring the services provided by the Finance & Operations team are done in a timely manner and in adherence to Elemental’s quality, mission, and values of Kuleana (responsibility & stewardship) and joyful work. This is a career position, one in which we hope to invest in your further professional development. We are seeking individuals who seek to be challenged and to learn and grow as they work hard to fulfill the Elemental mission to combat climate change and advance social justice. Key Responsibilities Include: Maintaining accounts payable, ensuring timely payment of invoices, expense reports, recording of credit card expenses. Maintaining the database & documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury. Preparing journal entries, analyses, monthly account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes. Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts. This role requires a strategic and critical thinker with creative, out-of-the-box ideas, storytelling acumen, industry landscape knowledge, and strong public relations skills with solid press relationships across multiple platforms. We are looking for a leader with outstanding communications and collaboration skills. Experience navigating high-profile media relationships, launching big initiatives, and working with startups is a requirement. Is this you? The role, which will report into our COO, is responsible for leading the organization's content strategy and team, with a focus on three primary areas: PR Strategy & Positioning Creation & Execution: Building PR strategy and leading all aspects of PR Planning and execution including press outreach, the building of narratives and writing and reviewing of all materials including press releases, press kits, and presentations. With management of events, issues management, media exposure for portfolio companies, securing speaking engagements and preparing team members for them, as well as the positioning for press and to the industry that elevates the overall Elemental brand. This role will also oversee agencies, internal and external channel communications. Marketing Management: Building owned media strategy including editorial calendars for Elemental’s blog, newsletter, and owned events, and supervising execution. Social Media Management: Building and overseeing execution of social media strategy as a distribution channel and amplification for owned and earned media content, as well as original social media content. You will be responsible for writing compelling concept notes and winning grant proposals, while managing the entire funding cycle, from ideation to submission to reporting to stewardship. Both strategic and energetic, the Growth Team is expected to execute the organization’s ambitious strategic and revenue goals. The Development Manager will report directly to the Director of Strategic Development and collaborate closely with the rest of the Growth team, including the Chief Growth Officer and Partnerships Analyst.
