The Capital Projects Team develops, coordinates, and directs projects for the design, construction and operation of processing plants utilizing Twelve’s proprietary technology. We work closely with both Business Development and R&D to implement and scale up our technologies, utilizing EPC contractors for the engineering and construction of demonstration and commercial plants.
In this position, you will be responsible for electrical design deliverables for the design and construction of process plants utilizing electrolyzers and other unit operations to capture, process, and convert CO2 into a myriad of value-add products. As part of the Capital Projects technical team, you will partner closely with R&D and production teams to help develop and continually improve electrical designs for 1MW and larger systems and support projects through the design and execution phases. You will both develop and evaluate technical engineering documents for the design and construction of plants from pilot to commercial scale.
What You Will Do
Develop electrical engineering documents around the electrical design for electrolyzer plants that are 1MW and larger, including electrical schematics, harness drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical equipment and instrument specifications.
Work with process and controls engineers on control system design for commercial plants utilizing medium and low voltage systems
Complete FEL 2-3 electrical engineering deliverables
Interface with EPC companies, vendors, engineering companies, and subject matter experts to design and build large production plants to ensure product is designed and built to appropriate standards.
Collaborate with R&D and business development to integrate improvements to Twelve’s core technology into commercial process designs
Review and approve electrical equipment data sheets, Load lists, I/O lists, cause and effect tables, P&IDs, rectifier and other electrical equipment specifications, and detailed design engineering documents produced by EPCs and engineering contractors.
Participate in safety studies, such as arc flash and HAZOP studies
Provide support to on-site electrical construction teams and assist with plant start-up activities
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree
Experience with system scaleup and electrical design for commercial plants, from kW to MW size.
Experience with specifying and operating electrical equipment such as rectifiers/converters, large power transformers, switchgear (LV and MV), busbars, control systems, MCCs, protections systems, batteries and controls hardware.
Excellent with engineering studies and calculations such as load flow, short circuit analysis, Motor starting, relay coordination, arc flash and grounding studies.
Experience with NEC, NFPA, IEC, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, CSA, CE and BS standards.
Ability and enthusiasm to work as part of a highly collaborative, dynamic, and diverse team
