Founding Engineer

At Neuterra Inc., we are reimagining consumerism by providing the most transparent way to shop for a planet with finite resources. We use traceability and supply chain technologies to enable consumers to make the most informed buying decisions available to the public.

Neuterra Inc. is looking to hire a driven full-stack developer as our Founding Engineer. You would join the team as one of the first hires and help develop our innovative platform. You would work in a mission-driven, upbeat environment, lead projects, solve challenging problems, contribute to company innovation efforts and build rapport with internal and external shareholders as we near Series A funding.

As a small team, we’re looking for someone passionate about enacting social and environmental justice. This person would lead our technology and engineering side and cross-collaborate with the business and operations side. Prior startup experience isn’t required, but the passion to help lead the charge on a purpose-driven entrepreneurial endeavor with an early-stage startup is.

Full transpaency (transparency is sort of our thing): This is an equity-only (until Series A funding is acquired), remote role with the opportunity to work anywhere within the United States.

Your Background:

• Expertise in front-end technology (JavaScript, CSS, HTML) and back-end technology (i.e. Python or Java/. Net)
• Design Ability (i.e. UI/UX)
• Database and cache familiarity
• Knowledge of development language (sever-side of programming languages i.e. Net, Java, Ruby, or  Python)
• Server experience (i.e. Linux)

Your Qualifications and Skills:

• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability learning and working on new projects
• Experience and/or aptitude to work with an interdisciplinary team (engineering, operations, customer relations)
• Self-starter with the ability to re-prioritize efforts
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to galvanize and motivate a team
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• 2 years + full stack developer

What Makes You Stand Out:

• Previous startup experience
• Previous Chief Technology Officer (CTO) experience
• Direct experience working with e-commerce
• Environmentalism and/or social justice activisim
• Strong desire to learn and grow

Your Responsibilities:

• Contribute a minimum of 30 hours per week while working on an equity vesting schedule, without pay 
• Work full-time on a market rate salary (or higher) post Series A funding
• Take an inclusive and deeply human approach to creating product
• Advocate for intersectional environmentalism (the protection of both people and the planet)
• Manage the complete software development from conception to employment
• Ability to visualize a proposed system and play a critical role in building it
• Align with the company’s vision, values, needs, and expectations
• Help mold and maintain a culture of empathy and egalitarianism from the top down
• Work diligently with the team and play a critical role in bringing the company to Series A funding

• Paid 1-hour assessment
• 45-minute Final interview/assessment debrief
