Marketing Associate

About the Job

The Marketing Associate will create engaging content and spread awareness of The Ceres Market brand and messaging on multiple social media platforms. The Marketing Associate will work closely with the Founder and team to ideate new ways to connect with customers and create brand-focused content to promote our campaigns utilizing both traditional and digital organizing techniques. We are looking for a curious and creative thinker, driver, and organizer who is seeking to engage in a lasting mentorship experience. The ideal candidate will possess both familiarity with the environment and a passion for minimal waste living, as well as an interest in entrepreneurship. 

 

Our Mission: To reduce the barriers to low-waste living by empowering communities to lead healthier, more connected, and intentional lives with our planet in mind. 

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Engages in social media presence creation on social media platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
• Creates dynamic written, graphic, and video content, including email and web content.
• Assists social media management with large projects, events, and community management.
• Uses timelines and scheduled content to create a consistent stream of new content for audience interaction while analyzing, managing, and altering schedules where necessary to optimize visits.
• Provide our community members with the inspiration, tools, and resources they need to participate in the shift into circular living where they live, work and learn.
• Support the development and evolution of the marketing strategy, target audience, and social media strategy.

 

Qualifications: 

• Studied in the field of business, marketing, communications, management, journalism, arts, environmental studies, and/or entrepreneurship. 
• Ability to write at a high level, creating error-free, emotionally engaging content within a relatively short period of time.
• Knowledge of the environmental and social impacts of plastic production and consumption, including solutions to plastic pollution strongly preferred.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including customers, investors, donors, and/or environmental organizations is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with engagement tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Canva, A/B testing strongly preferred; design capabilities a plus.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks as well as adapt and react as projects evolve. 
• Demonstrated commitment to and competency around diversity, equity, and inclusion is required, including a desire to tell the stories and organize campaigns with individuals and communities most impacted by environmental and economic injustice. 
• Desire and ability to work well in a collaborative, team environment. 
• Must have a can-do attitude, patience, sense of humor, and positive outlook on the future state of the planet. 

Work Expectations:  

3 days a week, ~3 hours a day. The schedule is flexible and work is remote. This is a part-time volunteer position with an integral role in the life of the organization and contact with customers, donors, as well as outside contractors and vendors.
