Senior Android Developer (Volunteer)

Are you an Android developer with 3+ years experience?  Do you want to make a difference in the climate crisis? Responsibilities

.

• Play a central role on the Android development team.

• Team with designs and other developers to bring app improvements to life.

• Work independently to improve the code base, with the support from the team to remove roadblocks and save you time.

• Improve processes and tools to increase team effectiveness.

• Identifying and rectifying bugs and enhancing application performance.

 .

Experiences helpful in this role

.

• 3+ years of experience engineering for Android devices.

• Experience with Kotlin or experience with Java and an interest to learn Kotlin.

• Ability to take initiative, learn new things, and apply them.

• Positive, proactive, and motivated self-starter.

Expectations

.

You will work remotely and on your own schedule. Roles work best with a minimum commitment of 6 months for 3 - 5 hours a week (or more if you like!). Because our all-volunteer team is spread worldwide, we rely mainly on a combination of Slack, Github, and ad hoc video calls to communicate.

If you possess a high level of self-motivation, work well in teams, have strong collaboration skills, enjoy the opportunity to partner with like-minded individuals, and can commit quality time per week to help achieve team goals, we would love to hear from you.
