In this role, You will leverage your power market expertise and Form Energy’s analytics tools to evaluate market-level and project-level deployment scenarios. You will explore gaps in analytics tools, understand key pain points, and prototype features of the next generation of grid modeling tools. You will expand our data pipeline, synthesize complex results and simplify for a variety of audiences. You will leverage your and the team’s knowledge of energy, finance and optimization to creatively develop more effective approaches for all project development stages. You will enable the software development team to incorporate successful methods into our core software package. <h3>What you'll do: </h3><ul><li>Lead analyses of the economics of renewable and storage projects and grid systems from end-to-end: Mapping customer requirements produced by Form Energy's BD team  to economic and optimization model specifications,  aggregating data, setting up and running optimization-based and Excel-based models, and interpreting and visualizing model outputs.</li><li>Build and run models for predicting time series data in the power sector</li><li>Create collateral - PowerPoints, memos, papers - to communicate deeply technical and complex analysis in a clear and concise fashion to internal and external stakeholders</li><li>Lead research on power markets, translating this research into model specifications Improve Form Energy's processes around analytics projects, resulting in faster, more effective, and more profitable engagements</li><li>Formulate production-quality requirements for the software development team</li><li>Leverage commercial grid modeling tools to complement Form Energy’s software stack</li></ul><h3>What we're looking for:</h3><ul><li>Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in economics, engineering, mathematics, or other technical subjects </li><li>2+ years experience in market modeling or financial analysis in the renewable energy or energy storage space</li><li>Ability to solve problems at the interface of optimization, energy and finance  </li><li>Deep knowledge of energy markets  Excellent communication skills and ability to interface effectively with software and BD teams</li><li>Ability to collect and organize large data sets, run extensive quantitative analysis to address complex questions and present complex results in clear compelling ways</li><li>Experience with Python (primarily Pandas, Numpy, and data visualization tools such as Altair) Passion for the mission!</li></ul><h3>Characteristics: </h3><ul><li>Enjoy the fast paced, results driven environment of a startupData-driven decision maker</li><li>Drives projects to completionHigh attention to detail</li><li>Comfortable independently advancing analytics engagements from conception through data analysis, results compilation and presentation</li><li>Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills  Hands-on approach to analytics problem solving</li><li>Flexible working style: Can “wear many hats” and jump quickly between projects</li><li>Able to work well in cross-disciplinary project teams and deliver results</li></ul><span style="font-size:11pt;">At Form Energy, we are working toward a 100% renewable energy future for everyone in the world.
