The Opportunity at Volta Charging
We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead our French Service Operation team, within the Operations department, to rapidly build our staff and help us continue to innovate the processes, and systems that will deliver best-in-class uptime, reliability, and customer service. Service Operations' mission is to attain the highest uptime with the most beautiful stations in the EV charging industry, while providing an exceptional experience for drivers and site partners. Our Field Technicians are critical to Volta’s success. Our new Director will bring with them expertise, people management skills, energy, and an innovative spirit to help Volta Charging scale rapidly with high quality and efficiency.
In your first 90 days, you will
Assess the current team, development needs, and talent gaps
Take leadership of hiring and people management of the Service team
Establish a management cadence: 1-on-1’s, team calls, peer catch-ups leadership meetings
Understand Service Operations workflows and systems
Develop a basic knowledge of our charging infrastructure
Complete an assessment of your organization’s capabilities with respect to Volta’s requirements for the function, and identified key deliverables for the remainder of 2022
After twelve months, you will have accomplished
Led and innovated Volta’s Field Tech organization by identifying and championing organizational change, process improvement, and system enhancements
Developed and managed tiered skilled sets for our Field Techs, so that we match skill-set to work required, improving resolution times and cost-efficiency
Grown the Field Tech team to meet Volta’s needs, which may entail doubling or tripling staffing levels. You have hired people with the right talent set, who contribute to our culture
Improved performance around uptime, initial response time, resolution time, first time fix rate, customer satisfaction, and total operational cost per unit under management.
Specified, designed, and/or represented your function on projects to enhance quality, productivity, and efficiency
Contributed to and influenced the design and improvement of Volta products: Be the voice of maintainability and serviceability.
You are accountable for metrics such as station uptime, on time work completion, response time, first time fix rate, and total cost efficiency

Several years experience hiring, managing, and developing field service employees
Excellent system skills, with experience specifying software requirements and testing new systems. Specific experience with the force.com platform and field service applications is a plus
Proficiency with analytical tools (eg Excel and BI systems) and operational modeling concepts
Advanced process improvement skills, including familiarity with a variety of methodologies and their appropriateness for different organizational situations.
