Role DescriptionWe are looking for a hands-on individual to help us develop our core technology by joining our battery cell and module product development team. The senior test engineer will be responsible for writing, organizing, and executing test scripts used for module-level testing. You will have experience in data processing and analysis automation. In addition, the you will work with the team to build out our custom battery testers composed of off the shelf hardware (i.e., DAQs, power supplies, amplifiers) and for wrangling data from qualification test protocols.  This role will be ~75% in-lab.  At Form Energy, we value teamwork and a successful employee will excel in a dynamic team environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Write and maintain variety of electrochemical test scripts across multiple battery cycling machines 
  • Create hand-off materials for electrochemical test stand build out and operation
  • Design and prototype custom requests for electrical test stands to meet data collection requirements for testing Form Energy’s battery modules
  • Wrangle and analyze data from new performance tests; automate data analysis with a scientific programming language
  • Lead efforts to track performance using statistical analysis tools to identify performance and/or test stand variability

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong communication skills within a group of peers and broader organization including with remote team members
  • 4+ years of experience designing test protocols (protocols for batteries is a plus)
  • Experience with test management and building a test plan that aligns to product requirements
  • Experience with Python scripting
  • Experience using cloud based organizational tools
  • 4+ years experience building or maintaining electrical testing equipment (electrochemical test equipment, such as battery cyclers, test stands for fuel cells, electrolyzers, flow batteries, or similar is a plus)
  • Familiarity with Jira, and SQL, and LabView is a plus
  • Enjoys a fast paced work environment
  • BS degree in an Engineering or Science discipline or equivalent knowledge base obtained from this degree

The salary range for this role is $138,805-$171,120. The range listed is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may be modified in the future. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
