SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join our Generation & Process improvement team to advance our work towards a better climate future. You’ll be joining a team of passionate developers working on projects that help us build and operate our solar farms more effectively. In this role, you will work with time-series and geospatial data, interface with battery storage systems, and build internal tools to support teams across the company. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership over projects, influence development processes, and mentor junior developers while working on challenging projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement and debug new features across one or more projects
  • Work with product team, stakeholders, and other developers to refine system designs and influence architectural decisions
  • Maintain and influence coding standards and development processes
  • Mentor and coach junior developers
  • Document implementations and design decisions

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, hands-on, results-oriented and a team player. Key qualifications are as follows:

  • 5+ Years of professional software development experience
  • Experience developing web-based solutions using Python 3 and one or more web development frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of web standards (CSS, HTML, JS), infrastructure (databases, storage, caching, content delivery), and cloud hosting offerings.
  • Strong debugging skills
  • Experience with other web technologies and languages is helpful (Javascript, SQL, etc.)
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
