Job Description

Form Energy is a U.S. technology and manufacturing company that is developing and commercializing cost-effective multi-day energy storage systems to enable the global electricity system to run on 100% low-cost renewable energy, every day of the year. Driven by Form’s core values of humanity, excellence, and creativity, our team is deeply motivated and inspired to create a better world. We seek to transform the energy landscape and do our part in making the world better for all. We are supported by leading investors who share a common belief that low-cost, multi-day energy storage will be a key enabler of tomorrow’s zero carbon electric system.

The role will require collaboration with engineers, scientists, and technicians to ensure that the Battery R&D team is not limited by the build and test equipment infrastructure or capacity.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the system design of technical infrastructure projects that support wet chemistry, engineering processes, machine shop and general R&D activities
  • Roll up your sleeves to contribute hands-on to development projects
  • Evaluate your system design in the perspective of the person that will be building or using it
  • Identify and implement design or process improvements to ensure safety, quality, reliability, maintainability, availability, consistency, and efficiency
  • Work with a small team of technicians that will specify, source, install, and commission new capital equipment
  • Develop procedures and work instructions for technicians, engineers or external suppliers
  • Aid in the development of best practices, training, maintenance and infrastructure to improve safety, in conjunction with Form Energy’s safety officers, for the laboratory
  • Provide life cycle documentation management of equipment (warranties, manuals, operator instructions) in company equipment management system such as UpKeep

What You'll Bring:

  • BS degree in an Engineering field, preferably Mechanical or Electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in fast-paced high-tech environment with demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • An ability to take fairly general business/operational requirements and turn them into detailed technical requirements
  • Experience leading a system design/sourcing project for laboratory/manufacturing/engineering equipment installation
  • Understanding of general facilities systems, including electrical, plumbing, and structural
  • Experience working with technicians, outside contractors and vendors
