Job Description

EcoBuilding Bargains is the largest used building materials store in New England. Our mission is to keep thousands of tons of trash out of landfills by making salvaged building materials, furnishings and appliances available to people looking for quality bargains. We keep growing and need some dedicated, hard-working, and enthusiastic people to join our team in various positions:


We are looking for people who can bring new insights, life experience, and diversity to the CET team. This is critical to support our mission impact in historically underserved communities and our success mitigating climate change. Warehouse Worker: If you are interested in working in the warehouse, please apply for the Receiving Specialist position.


Cashier: Greet customers, ring them up, and handle cash and credit card transactions. You will also assist in pricing, stocking and displaying inventory; and help customers load their vehicles. 


Salesperson: You are familiar with building materials or have experience in retail sales. You can help people solve their home improvement or building needs with our unique mix of inventory. You know how to close the sale.


Driver: You have experience driving a box truck. You will pick up used building materials throughout the region. Overnights not required. CDL not required but DOT is.

  • Assigned shifts! No weekly changes. You will know when you are scheduled to work so you can plan your life.
  • Day shifts!: EcoBuilding Bargains closes at 5:00 in the winter and 6:00 in the summer. Employees typically work one weekend day.
  • Safety!: We pay attention to safety. We continue to pay attention to best practices for managing COVID-19 and require masking, distancing, and sanitation as appropriate for our employees and request this of our customers.

Who should apply?

  • You work hard, can work independently, and have a great attitude towards people and our mission.
  • You have great communication skills and we love it if you speak another language.
  • If you have knowledge and experience with upcycling building materials or home improvement, that is helpful
  • You must have the ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs. and stand for the day
