About Rondo

Rondo Energy's mission is to eliminate 15% of global CO2 emissions in 15 years.

To accomplish this mission, Rondo is deploying low-cost, zero-carbon Rondo Heat Batteries to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and to significantly decarbonize industrial processes that are commonly thought of as "difficult-to-decarbonize". The Heat Batteries are charged from intermittent renewables to provide high temperature, continuous heat for customers safely, reliably, at an unprecedented 98% efficiency, and at a cost point that is lower than any other method.

Rondo Energy is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team and repower industrial heat at scale. Together, we aim to reduce world CO₂ emissions by 1% in 10 years, and 15% in 15 years.

About the Financial Analyst Position

Key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Building out and maintaining the master financial models to accurately assess the value of Rondo’s Heat Batteries for different customer segments and regulatory markets
  • Modeling novel deal structures involving the full set of stakeholders (i.e. energy providers, customers, and project finance counterparties) needed to finance and develop projects and bring the first heat battery projects to commercial operation 
  • Conducting regulatory research as necessary to support fundamental market analysis and overall portfolio strategy
  • Assisting with due diligence questions and interface with potential investors
  • Collaborate closely with Rondo’s project development, strategy and sales teams

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years in the energy industry or finance industry; renewable energy industry and/or commodity market experience a plus
  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal policies and regulations
  • Appetite for solving problems and developing new approaches
  • Passion for contributing to the energy transition
  • Ability to operate autonomously and self-direct toward the most important problems to work on
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Statistical and numerical analysis skills
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with writing scripts for data manipulation, scraping, and automating tasks that are annoying in excel is a bonus (e.g. Python, R, Julia, VBA, etc.)

The role may require occasional travel to customer or investor meetings in California.
