We are growing rapidly and are looking for a Head of Operations who will oversee operations to efficiently scale technology, teams and service, and enable our users to slash carbon, save cash and earn rewards. 

Regarding location:  The CEO and our headquarters are near Washington DC. This job could be done remotely.

About the Role…

The Head of Operations will initially report to the CEO and play a key role in building the foundations for rapid scale, with the opportunity to grow our operations team over time. In this role, you will help build the right team and define and institutionalize processes for growing a fintech that’s nimble, compliant and responsive to our members.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish best practices for company growth across all areas of the business, including human resources, tax and regulatory compliance, financial forecasting and reporting and geographic expansion. 
  • Manage human resources, including onboarding, payroll, benefits, options accounting and ongoing training opportunities. 
  • Manage tax and regulatory compliance, including registration across states, working with our tax and accounting team to pay state and federal taxes, and ensuring insurances are appropriate and up to date. 
  • Manage budgets and financial forecasts, including budget vs. actual reporting, tracking burn-rate and runway and paying bills.  
  • Leverage the latest software to simplify processes and create a nimble and transparent work environment. 
  • Support, as applicable, investor diligence for future financing rounds. 
  • Support Future’s geographic expansion. 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience leading company operations and/or managing complex projects is preferred
  • 4+ years experience with direct people management, including remote management
  • Strong and versatile communicator, across many diverse audiences and levels of experience/understanding
  • A high-level of initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and be able to shift priorities quickly.
  • Very strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees and external partners in-person and remotely.
  • Experience in fintech is a plus, particularly with debit, credit or charge cards
  • Experience working in agile software development environments is preferred 
  • Quantitative/analytical skills required 
  • Demonstrated interest in fighting climate change
