Upstream Tech is a climate technology company that uses remote sensing and machine learning to help organizations manage and monitor natural resources. We have two Software as a Service products, Lens and HydroForecast.
Specifically, we are seeking a remote monitoring and GIS associate to deliver professional services to our customers, such as conducting monitoring services and coordinating custom imagery acquisitions.
As a member of the Growth & Partnerships team, this person will help develop and grow our monitoring services and tasking offerings for Lens, and will provide GIS support for the sales team. This individual will work with imagery vendors to maintain a clear offering of tasking options and manage the tasking process from start-to-finish, including communicating with customers, preparing order paperwork, and ensuring quality imagery is delivered to Lens accounts. This individual will also be responsible for conducting our Monitoring Services work: reviewing satellite imagery, generating insights on ecological and landscape changes, and creating well-written and clear reports.
The right candidate is self-motivated, driven by our mission, has geospatial and/or remote sensing experience, and has an understanding of conservation, forestry, and/or other relevant natural resource management subjects. We are seeking a team member who is comfortable communicating with customers, has some knowledge of SaaS products, and a desire to work closely with a driven, remote team.
Be a remote imagery expert, working with imagery vendors to maintain a clear offering of tasking options and working with customers to determine an acquisition strategy to meet their goals and budget
Manage the tasking process from start to finish, including communicating with customers and providing cost estimates, coordinating with imagery vendors, preparing order paperwork, and ensuring imagery delivery
Provide monitoring services to customers, ensuring projects are completed with quality insights and efficiency
Assist sales team with GIS tasks including transformations of customer data and other similar tasks
Technical support of customers including developing customer-facing educational materials and trainings, coordinating account set-up and meetings, and tracking customer use and use-cases
Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. environmental management, data science, computer science, engineering)
Technical knowledge of GIS and remote sensing, preferably in a forestry or land management context
Experience working in a customer- or client-facing context
Two to five years of work experience
Demonstrated creative problem solving skills
High level of attention to detail and strong project management capabilities
Comfort with technology and experience using project or customer management software platforms
Strong written and verbal communication
