Job Description



Terramera is actively seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer to join our Intelligent Agriculture Product Development team. At Terramera, we are working on ambitious projects to quantify soil health, sequester carbon in soil, promote regenerative agriculture, and transform how food is grown, globally. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in two or more of the following areas: User Research, Interaction Design, or Visual Design.  


To conduct user research to drive a solution vision based on business and user insights, designing desirable and intuitive multi-channel experiences, developing wireframes and visual designs, and iteratively validating solutions with users.


Reporting to the Senior Product Designer, the UI/UX Designer will work closely with other members of our R&D team including Scientists, Software, Machine Learning and Robotics Engineers as part of our interdisciplinary workforce. 


  • Develop new product concepts, storyboards, detailed interaction designs and screen flows, and prototypes to clearly articulate solutions
  • Create compelling visual designs that align to company and product brand standards
  • Advocate for user-centered design solutions
  • Conduct user research to discover insights, define user personas, and map user journeys
  • Create distinctive, branded digital experiences that are desirable and consistent across multiple platforms, devices and channels
  • Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve design solutions
  • Actively collaborates as part of an agile team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately
  • Track user experience metrics and reports on the success of UX improvements, including analytics


  • 2 years of experience in UI/UX Design at a product-led organization
  • Combined skills in 2 of 3 of the following: User Research, Interaction Design, Visual Design
  • Hands-on experience designing software applications for desktop, web, and mobile
  • Proven experience working in design teams in a modern product development setting
  • Experience planning and conducting user research at various stages of the design process
  • Able to plan, conduct, and synthesize user research and usability testing
  • Strong visual design skills, able to translate verbal ideas and create compelling, branded, high-fidelity product screens
  • Familiar working with design systems that consistently scale across platforms


  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate the value of a design choice to users and non-designer stakeholders
  • Synthesizes abstract ideas into tangible solutions for design
  • Is passionate about problem solving through design
  • Sees value in taking an iterative design approach
  • Has a strong sense of ownership and proactively advocates for the end user
  • Open to taking on new challenges and learning new skills
