Covid Vaccination Policy

At CleanCapital, we value and prioritize a safe work environment and require all employees who will be physically entering any CleanCapital office to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Position Summary

This position will assist with the review and analysis of legal documentation and project contracts to support BQ Energy’s development goals. The Associate will be responsible for thoroughly reviewing all contracts, policies, and documents related to both new development opportunities, such as real estate site control and lease-option agreements, and those of ongoing projects, including but not limited to joint development agreements, deadlines, requirements, and property tax documentation. Coordinating data room uploads and managing digital files, the Associate will assist with day-to-day contract organization and communication with partners, especially as projects progress through development, sales, and financing. This position will work closely with BQ Energy and CleanCapital’s legal and development teams to assist in due diligence processes as needed. 

BQ Energy has an exciting and dynamic startup atmosphere and the Associate will receive best-in-class experience on how to support and manage project contracts and diligence efforts for a diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets. This position has a location preference for the Hudson Valley, New York, although some activities may be completed remotely. CleanCapital and BQ Energy have headquarters in Wappingers Falls, NY; Buffalo, NY; and New York City, NY.

Core Responsibilities

  • Draft and review contracts and agreements for project companies, including but not limited to lease and lease option agreements, site easements, vendor and supplier agreements, amendments, letters of credit, JDA’s, and administrative real estate documents for site control
  • Manage data room uploads, digital file organization, and communication of relevant project contracts and requirements to partners and relevant stakeholders
  • Serve as a point of contact for counterparties in negotiations for agreements, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and project management acumen
  • Conduct research and other due diligence efforts to compile relevant information as needed for staff, technical consultants, legal, and development teams
  • Track all steps needed to reach contract finalization, up to, and including, contract execution
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory/legislative trends and changes as wells as current and future market conditions
  • Track counterparty compliance with contract milestones and other deliverables
  • Act independently and in supervisor’s stead, as needed; exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems
  • Support the team by performing ad-hoc research and analysis 

 Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

 Technical Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in energy contract management or negotiation OR project management/assistance, research, and contract review, particularly in the legal and/or environmental fields
  • Experience managing and tracking multiple projects, scheduling, and financial aspects of small to large projects that range from short to long term
  • Working knowledge of the energy industry and/or passion for renewable energy
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Ironclad experience is a plus

Work Conditions

If working remotely, your work environment is what you make of it, however BQ Energy encourages everyone to have a dedicated workspace that, for the most part, can be free of distractions.
