Job Description

Electric Hydrogen’s mission is to create an abundant and decarbonized material future. Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels. 

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Director, Business Operations. You have experience in building and leading all aspects of business operations at high-growth companies and you are looking to apply your skillset at the world's fastest-growing electrolyzer company.

You will be based at our facility in Natick, MA, and will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement the vision, strategy and annual roadmap for Business Operations to advance company-wide goals
  • Directly oversee:
    • Corporate operations and compliance
    • Business processes and systems
    • Real estate and buildouts
    • Facilities
    • IT
    • Contracting process (along with outside counsel)
  • Start by managing a team of 8 people responsible for keeping our business running on a daily basis
  • Be a trusted partner with the executive team to oversee and execute on key initiatives as well as guide our focus towards future key initiatives
  • Assess team and employee development needs, makes recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions
  • Work closely with manufacturing, sales, marketing, HR, engineering and finance
  • Measure program effectiveness and collect feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Identify external resources and manage vendor/consultant relationships

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or relevant Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of business operations experience
  • You've worn "many many hats" in the business; if a job needs to be done, you'll step in and do it if you are able
  • Leadership experience at growing/startup companies responsible for all, or nearly all, aspects of day-to-day operations
  • Ability to operate strategically not just tactically; how can we solve the problems that won't crop up for six more months?
  • You are self-motivated, collaborative, data -driven, resourceful, adaptable
  • Ability to think critically, problem solve, and not only recommend effective solutions but execute them
  • Leader who mentors and develops the team
  • Extremely organized with strong attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in energy/climate related businesses
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or hardware-based business
  • Experience working with deeply technical engineering team colleagues
  • Passionate about decarbonization
