OUR IMPACT

GridStor is a rapidly growing, grid-scale energy storage developer, owner and operator backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”) and led by experienced clean energy industry professionals. We acquire, develop and operate stand-alone battery storage projects in markets across North America. GridStor is based in Portland, Oregon.  

YOUR IMPACT 

Reporting directly to the CEO, and as a member of the leadership team, you will lead the evaluation of existing and proposed policy and regulation related to stand alone front-of-the-meter battery energy storage. Your role will be to identify promising markets for expansion as well as potential risks to existing projects/markets. You will also lead efforts to influence policy and regulation relating to energy storage at the state, RTO/ISO, and federal levels to enable the rapid growth of a profitable, entrepreneurial energy storage business.

This lead will work in a fast-paced environment delivering results for cross-functional projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The GridStor Regulatory/Policy lead will work in a fast-paced environment delivering results for cross-functional projects. In this role, the candidate will support GridStor’s development and operations by leading activities including but not limited to:

  • Manage relationships with industry organizations that work with state-level policymakers on clean energy programs, defending and enhancing the value of portfolio projects
  • Manage consultants to maintain visibility over policy developments at the state, RTO/ISO, and federal levels
  • Represent GridStor on ISO committees building market rules relevant to the value of portfolio assets, including the treatment of solar and storage in capacity, ancillary services, and energy markets
  • Work with Commercial team to identify risks and opportunities in state-level policies relevant to energy storage assets, such as Renewable Portfolio Standards/Clean Energy Standards, energy storage targets, and clean capacity incentives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years managing external stakeholder relationships with state-level utility commissions and ISOs, consultants, and industry advocates
  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail; able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate complex policy information and progress on strategic goals to internal decision makers
  • Positive attitude and creative problem-solving ability
  • A motivated self-starter who can work independently in a fast paced, rapidly evolving environment
