Carbon Accounting Product Manager

Our multidisciplinary team of world-class scientists, engineers and maritime operators is working as fast as possible while the world is burning. 
Our team is looking for our first Carbon Accounting Product Manager to design processes that are in compliance with current accounting standards while managing the buildout of market-leading life cycle assessments. You’ll have direct influence on how Running Tide tracks its project emissions and its company emissions across our entire supply chain and inform how those emissions are incorporated into our carbon accounting practices.
You will work across the entire Running Tide organization as a subject matter expert on our carbon removal accounting principles. Your deep industry knowledge coupled with a vision for the future of carbon removal will help inform our system design and define what a true end-to-end, fully tracked carbon supply chain looks like. You will own Running Tide’s Emissions Ledger -accounting for both project emissions and our full scope of total company emissions.

You Will:

• Design and implement an emissions accounting plan that matches the speed and scale of our expected growth.
• Quantify emissions by leveraging industry best practices (and by defining best practices when none exist).
• Design the measurement methodologies for Running Tide’s carbon footprint.
• Contact suppliers directly and work with them to provide relevant data.
• Extract data from fuel and emission reports.
• Perform emissions accounting in a detailed, lossless, and auditable way and direct colleagues in different locations that handle location specific accounting
• In conjunction with Running Tide’s leadership, build a carbon accounting team to define and enforce carbon removal accounting principles throughout our supply chain.
• Partner with our product and software teams to build modern software tools to simplify, automate, and centralize all our carbon accounting

You Are (or You Have):

• 5+ years experience in life cycle assessment and/or management of a corporate supply chain procurement process
• Helped drive impactful decarbonization initiatives based on your greenhouse gas measurements.
• In depth knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting principles and application in the private sector, including Scope 3 categories
• A willingness to roll up your sleeves to work with unstructured and inconsistent data in a startup environment.
• A desire to take climate action and fight to improve ocean health.

Expected Compensation Range: $120,000-140,000 USD per year
