You may be the right person to grow with us and help us achieve our critical mission impact goals.

The Director of Projects and Program Management job:

  • Direct and manage the day-to-day operations of the department, including supervising and developing a team of dedicated Project and Program Managers.
  • Direct the development and implementation of best practice project management methodologies across the organization.
  • Drive adoption of methodologies across all cross-department projects and programs, to ensure consistent, reliable delivery with minimal business impact.
  • Deeply embed equity and inclusion objectives into program and project activities to increase diversity of beneficiaries.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous process improvement.
  • Proactively engage and consult with other department Directors on project management needs and performance.
  • Work with the CGO, Project Managers, and Program Managers to identify and develop new business opportunities with current clients or as an extension of ongoing activities.
  • Ensure that projects are staffed with the right Project or Program Manager based on skills, experience, knowledge, and abilities to match project complexity.
  • Champion CET's DEI initiative and nurture a healthy and inclusive team culture.

 Knowledge/Skills/Experience preferences:

  • A minimum of 10 year’s relevant work experience as a project delivery practitioner building, deploying, and/or supporting a high functioning project management office preferred.
  • At least 5 years in a supervisory role or an equivalent combination of training/experience.
  • Proficient in various project management methodologies with appropriate application, governance processes, and functions.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of projects or programs to help team members effectively manage, utilize, and forecast resource capacity vs. demand.
  • Proven experience establishing cross-team, cross-project strategies to overcome challenges of a matrix structure.
  • Budgeting skills to track and monitor project financial performance and help team members find cost-effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience leading successful teams.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working for a non-profit or environmental services consultancy.
    • Experience proposing, managing and/or delivering grant-funded projects.
    • Proficiency in Salesforce and NetSuite or equivalent CRM and ERP platforms.
    • Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP).

Location: This is a remote position located in the Northeast, with occasional travel to Massachusetts. Remote employees must have high-speed internet access and a working location free from distractions and interference during business hours.

What we offer:

This is a full-time salaried exempt position. CET offers excellent benefits including vacation, holiday, and personal/sick time; medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; and a retirement plan with a company match.
