ABOUT THE ROLE

wasted* is seeking an operations and logistics leader to join the team as they build out the wasted*blueprint: a full-stack portable sanitation platform of toilet deployment, efficient servicing, tech-enabled logistics, sustainable processing, and customer support.

The Head of Operations will lead the development of a streamlined operating blueprint – transforming and modernizing existing portable sanitation operations – to inform growth strategy and scale-up into new markets, and lead the implementation of this blueprint in new markets.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Play a lead role in creating and executing the long-term technical asset management and logistics/operations strategy for wasted* full-stack, circular sanitation ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to refine business plan, development strategy, and new market expansion.
  • Collaborate with the executive team in launching and optimizing revenue-generating projects.
  • Originate and report key performance indicators monthly to the broader management team.
  • Manage relationships with project operator(s), OEM(s), and O&M provider(s).
  • Cultivate new relationships in the operations and asset management space.
  • Work with regulatory and policy experts to understand and roll out ISO or utility modifications that would implicate technical or commercial operations.

 

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5-10 years experience in logistics optimization, last mile delivery, waste management/services/hauling, transportation mobility, or a similar field. 
  • Experience in centralized operations control and field deployments.
  • Familiarity with field operations, service and maintenance is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in management of availability, performance and reliability of waste servicing vehicles/fleets and route planning/management
  • Customer focused personality, comfortable using critical reasoning and judgment to make good decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, including a demonstrated proactive work ethic. As part of a lean and dynamic team, the candidate must be able to plan, oversee, and personally execute numerous projects simultaneously, work well under pressure, and adjust to changing priorities.

 

COMPENSATION & LOCATION

  • Job Type: Full-time, Remote or In-Person (Boston or Burlington, VT) 
  • Salary: Base salary and incentive plan that is commensurate with experience
