What You Will Do

Assist Aeroseal in creating and sustaining more efficient sourcing processes to save costs and maximize profitability. Negotiate with suppliers to obtain goods, materials, and services at the best prices by using strategic sourcing strategies and extensive knowledge of the commodity industry.

Analyze, organize, and improve sourcing processes for organization, with the goal of streamlining operations and reducing costs. Compare pricing for needed products and supplies, as well as negotiate with vendors.  Manage requests for proposals and bidding processes. Establish relationships with key suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the supply chain plan for all new products and assist evolving/improving the supply chain for existing products.
  • Build a pipeline for vendors in case of supply chain issues, down time or other manufacturing issues to support backup opportunities to complete on time production internally.
  • Perform detailed cost analysis of components and manufacturing processes used by our suppliers to ensure highest quality at the lowest cost solution.
  • Negotiate contracts to include pricing, terms, lead times to optimize total value of ownership.
  • Explore cost saving opportunities and execute for long term cost reduction.
  • Execute RFQ process obtaining quotes from different suppliers.
  • Lead the supplier selection process, both domestic and international, in alignment with business goals to create mutual partnerships and assist with contract negotiations up to final authorization.
  • Work closely with the R&D and Operations Departments, communicate the preferred supply base capabilities, and support their technical evaluation of opportunities for cost, manufacturability, and scalability.
  • Source, support, and drive alternate component qualification through engineering and quality teams.
  • Develop, negotiate, and update supplier agreements.
  • Develop benchmarks and analysis for sourcing strategies.
  • Investigate and understand global supply options for area of responsibility.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
    • Minimum 5+ years in sourcing/negotiations 
    • Experience in electronic components and have technical aptitude
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and organizational skills

    • MRP/ERP experience a plus
