What will you do?

As our Sales Director, you will build and inspire the team that helps homeowners make life-changing decisions for their largest investment–their homes. During this next phase at Sealed, building and scaling are our focuses. You will play a vital role in helping the company fully leverage our first-to-market advantage and scale nationwide, involving deeper penetration of existing markets, getting new products online, and navigating expansion into new markets. There are processes to streamline, comp plans to evolve, communications to deliver, and more. The results of our sales team’s effort are all tied to bringing comprehensive home energy improvements to the masses–decarbonizing a major source of US greenhouse gas emissions.

People and performance management are primary drivers within this scaling company context. Specifically:

  • Your team of Sales Managers will look to you for efficacy in driving and inspiring Account Executive performance consistently across teams, career growth, and advocacy as we streamline and scale how we sell
  • Account Executives will look to you for leadership experience and wisdom to guide them through the tumultuous waters of consumer service sales
  • Sealed leadership will look to you to be asking both strategic and tactical questions, diving into data and systems to surface answers to those questions, and thinking critically about solutions to push Sealed forward
  • You will collaborate closely with leaders in Sales Development, Sales Enablement, Revenue Operations, Solution Engineering, Product Management, Implementation, and Contractor Management to make it easier to sell Sealed

Tactically, you will:

  • Own monthly and quarterly revenue targets for the sales team
  • Own other sales performance KPIs pursuant to company revenue targets
  • Participate in the projects associated with the strategic direction of the sales org, from running pricing tests and analyzing performance data to running pilots and market rollouts
  • Own successful recruitment, hiring, ongoing training, and retention of Account Executive and Sales Manager talent
  • Solve problems that make it easier to sell at Sealed

What success looks like:

You gain credibility quickly, have high expectations, inspire performance, and yield results. You will help Sealed attract, retain, and grow high performing Sales Manager and Account Executive talent. You know when to lean into people skills and when to ruthlessly look at data. You will execute on plans to enhance funnel efficiency and remove barriers to selling. You relish the challenges that come with scaling, quickly adapt to dynamic conditions, know what great looks like, and have the capabilities to be the builder of a great sales team. You will prove through your work that you can partner and drive continuous growth as Sealed claims the leadership position for all things energy efficient in the home.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of sales management experience in a growing company with a minimum of 50 people on the sales team; ready to demonstrate specific examples of building teams and processes as well as expanding into new markets
  • 6+ years of total sales experience including DTC and/or SMB/mid-market plus telesales contexts
  • Past experience as an Account Executive or an equivalent quota-carrying, closing rep
  • Ability to coach managers 
  • Deep familiarity with sales metrics and KPIs
  • Curiosity and motivation to dive into systems and data to troubleshoot and seek answers
  • Familiar with best practices in change management and facilitation of communication plans and change adoption
  • Experience in a high volume, high velocity sales organization
  • Experience building a team, including recruiting, onboarding, and managing talent
  • Operating in dynamic, evolving environments doesn’t phase you. You can roll with change and keep the team moving in the right direction

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with sales enablement, whether direct or deep project partnership 
  • Experience managing a sales team >50 people
