Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

The Senior Manager Smart Growth will be responsible for crafting and driving the smart demand plan across all Ovo and SSE channels to ensure we have enough demand to meet our commercial and Regulatory requirements. In addition this role will be a conduit between Field Services and the demand channels to ensure that eligibility unlocks, other projects and improvements are incorporated into individual channel plans.

What will I be doing?

  • Development of Strategy & Plan - full ownership of demand roadmap
  • Lead commercial activities and coordinate across all channels including commercial to bring forecast and targets together
  • Understand and set the commercial objectives for smart meter installs across 1 - 3 year planning cycle working with Growth Analytics to model the customer base and smart opportunity
  • Work with individual channel owners to define and agree contribution to demand generation target
  • Challenge channel owners to deliver quality appointments and to support re-booking and cancellation fall outs
  • Work with forecasting team to understand the full deployment end to end and translate these into appropriate target setting
  • Work with Field Services and Operational areas to understand technical and customer eligibility unlocks
  • Share smart plan with wider stakeholders to ensure alignment and support can be maintained, particularly around timings of technical unlocks 
  • Represent customer engagement and demand generation for OVO group at BEIS  Bilaterals and forums (as and when required)
  • Support the delivery of RFI's and coordinate the demand channels responses
  • Develop contingency and remedial activity to supplement any actual or forecast short falls 
  • Complete channel feedback reporting and escalate areas of concerns to Head of Smart
  • Identification and definition of new opportunities to drive Smart demand, including new channel development / smart conversations such as Whatsapp. 
  • Drive the development of activity within the Smart programme to enable customer demand activity, including defining scope and leading on project management to support
  • Support the reduction of heritage meter installs by considering policy levers to reduce their installation
  • Work with the Energy Propositions team and Partnership teams to champion smart

The Senior Manager Smart Growth should be a confident manager of diverse stakeholders and complex business priorities, ideally with smart meter experience, able to build strong working relationships and be able to break down barriers to successful team working.

Do I have what it takes?

  • You will be a first rate communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • You will have phenomenal strategic, operational, technical and creative instincts, along with impressive organisation/ project management skills
  • Experience of working in a consumer engagement function whereby you have an understanding on how to drive positive consumer outcomes
  • The ability to deal with sophisticated business problems, able to see the best course of actions to achieve success
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g. energy, finance) or with functions such as billing, operations or customer services
  • Experience balancing multiple team members to ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget and you will be adept at “upwards management” ensuring the right people are engaged at the right times
  • You have an idea on data can manipulate reports to understand the salient issues
  • You will be a good presenter, able to share sophisticated information in a simple form
  • You have agility to change direction and the foresight to recognise where something is not working and to recommend a change of direction 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build good relationships with team members
  • A phenomenal teammate, able to work well independently to tackle problems and make decisions whilst being adaptable, diligent and meticulous 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a constantly evolving environment with an optimistic outlook and approach

We’ll pay you between £63,800 and £77,200, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us! We keep our pay ranges broad on purpose to give us, and you, flexibility to match your experience to our zero carbon mission.

You may be eligible for an on-target bonus. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
