Job Description

The Experience Team partners across Zoox to define and champion the “Human Experience”. We are growing a team of exceptional people to help invent and design unique solutions. We address new challenges around AI and strive to learn and understand all-around unique opportunities that define product strategy and design. 

As UX Designer, you'll work as part of the Ops experience team. You’ll demonstrate your creativity, analytical skills, and knowledge of user-facing solutions that demonstrate the best product experiences, launch innovative features, and build tools that accelerate our FleetOps teams. You will be a part of strategic decisions and lead the design process on key projects and initiatives, championing a human-centered design and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gain a deep understanding of our users, leverage user insights, and communicate design solutions to inform product direction
  • Explore product concepts to find promising directions that address both user and business needs
  • Design interfaces and interactions that are accessible, intuitive, and delightful to use
  • Create impactful solutions that are aligned with our design principles and our product strategy
  • Build prototypes to support user research, using low-to-high fidelity techniques; Minimize investment risks by testing solutions and validate assumptions early 
  • Align design goals and timelines with key internal decisions and milestones
  • Collaborate daily with user experience designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers to create industry-leading products for our users.
  • Help define metrics and UX requirements that help improve our product
  • Leverage best practices and consult our front-end engineers on the user interface and UX flows

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of relevant design experience in a commercial organization
  • Experience shipping digital products for desktop, web, or mobile
  • Experience in defining and implementing innovative features
  • Effective communication and self-organizational skills
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating effective design processes and interaction as well as visual design skills

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

  • Development of internal tools, enterprise software, analytical tools
  • Ability to advocate for Design consistency with designers, engineers, and other stakeholders 
  • Experience knowledge of user-centered design principles, familiarity with accessibility standards, inclusive design practices, and accessibility features
  • Experience in AV/EV industry


Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $164,000 to $206,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
 
Zoox also offers a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (e.g. sick leave, vacation, bereavement), unpaid time off, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, Amazon RSUs, health insurance, long-term care insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, and life insurance.

Vaccine Mandate
Employees working in this position will be required to have received a vaccine approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and/or the World Health Organization.
