Role Description
We are looking for an experienced test and development engineer to help us grow and streamline our test operations team. In this role, you will continuously improve, write, and develop electrical, mechanical, and electrochemical test processes for a variety of cell and system requirements as we scale up our technology. In coordination with the cell development teams, you will support battery testing, facilitate data acquisition and analysis, and contribute to test operations process development. What You'll Do:

  • Create and enforce the internal test processes for full scale and subscale test stands by defining a robust engineering process from requirements to final verification
  • Collaborate with the test engineering design team to develop and deploy new or upgraded test equipment and manage the sustaining engineering elements of current equipment
  • Own the collection, output, and quality of data from the sub and full scale test labs 
  • Identify and maintain software, electrical and mechanical improvement projects, creating metrics to visualize impact of results
  • Work with external suppliers to create new solutions to increase reliability and reduce testing downtime
  • Lead efforts to track performance of weekly control units and employ statistical analysis tools to identify performance and/or test stand variability

What You'll Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience with electrochemical test stand development
  • Experience in software design for data acquisition and analysis, including release management 
  • Experience using cloud based organizational tools
  • Basic laboratory safety knowledge
  • High attention to detail and organizational habits
  • Strong communication skills within a group of peers and broader organization
  • Positive attitude and appetite to learn and grow within our organization
