Job Description

Come supercharge the electrification of commercial fleets for a greener planet with Synop! We are looking for climate-focused backend developers to help us build tooling to put electric vehicles in a position to succeed for commercial use cases.

Synop was founded in 2021 and has quickly become one of the leading commercial electric fleet management companies. Backed by world-class investors like Obvious Ventures, WireFrame and Congruent Ventures, we’re tackling the growing climate crisis head on by helping commercial fleets scale their EV’s.

The Synop Energy Management Team is accelerating the process of commercial fleet electrification by building tools that intelligently manage how customers dispense energy and interact with the electrical grid. We are building and scaling the machine learning infrastructure that saves commercial EV fleets money on utility costs, maintains vehicle battery performance, and contributes back to the grid that powers our everyday lives.

What You’ll Do

You will work at the intersection of energy markets, electric vehicles, and advanced cloud computing to design and build the solutions that will power the future of commercial electric vehicles. This means taking an active role in design discussions, implementing industrial-grade solutions that fleets can rely on, and working with business partners to integrate new data sources and features as they come to market.

Key Qualifications

  • 2+ Years of back-end or full-stack development experience
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, C#
  • 1+ years of experience leading or contributing to design/architecture discussions
  • Experience with any of the major public cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EV Charging protocols such as Open Charge Point Protocol(OCPP)
  • Experience in the CleanTech or Energy Industries
  • Experience building software solutions that have been successfully rolled out to customers
  • Excellent documentation and written communication skills
