Job Description

Electric Hydrogen’s mission is to create an abundant and decarbonized material future. Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels. 

In this role, you will be responsible for developing the build process of Electric Hydrogen's first-of-a-kind electrolyzer equipment.

You will use your pragmatic sense of how to build real hardware to help drive simplicity into the design and help identify the quickest, cheapest way to produce a high quality green hydrogen plant. You will be based in our office in San Carlos, CA with allowable hybrid work schedule. Depending on the phase of the project, 10-30% of your on-site time would be best spent with boots on the ground at the project site <1 hour away from here. You will report to the Director of Systems (Plant Engineering).

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with plant engineering team, component vendors, and system integrators
  • Create simple, clear, concise work instructions to help inform the build process
  • Build, track, and communicate a Gantt chart system fabrication schedule
  • Proactively identify schedule, cost, and technical risk items, then help identify solutions
  • Provide detailed design-for-manufacturing feedback to the plant engineering team
  • Understand manufacturing constraints and work closely with vendors to improve their processes
  • Coordinate and oversee the factory acceptance testing of equipment
  • Ensure that the system is built to the company's quality standards
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to hand off production process after first builds

PRIOR EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES

  • Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, or other similar Engineering Degree
  • 2+ years industry experience at the intersection of design and manufacturing
  • Taken at least one significant technical project from design phase into production
  • Experience working with outside vendors, contractors, and officials
  • Maintain focus on big picture goals while handling the details
  • Able to provide thoughtful, constructive, actionable feedback to engineers
  • Ability to thrive in an environment with open-ended questions
  • Eagerness to seek better solutions, asking fundamental questions
  • Startup experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

NPI Engineer - Plant Engineering (P3): $119,000 - $159,000 per year

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
