You will manage the organization’s Environmental Health and Safety, Pre-Deployment, and Estimation teams.  You will diagnose Engineering, Estimation, Pre-Deployment, Procurement, and Construction processes, identify improvement opportunities, prescribe improvement strategies, and guide the improvement effort to make Nexamp Clean Energy Deployment (CED) the best-in-class EPC in the Distributed Generation (DG) and Utility Scale (US) space.  Best-in-class is defined by three lines of effort: delivering results, innovation, and agility.  The ability to enhance the continuous improvement culture and create value through productivity enhancement and cost reduction measures will drive profitability and define success.  This position requires a candidate with a proven leadership ability and ability to motivate a cross-functional team through indirect leadership and willing to get directly involved in improvements.  The VP, CED Operations will employ continuous improvement methodologies to engage teams to improve internal productivity, project value engineering, increased power plant performance, cost, and schedule reductions.  Key items to be addressed will be looking at project lifecycle processes and seeking to eliminate rework, reducing, and automating manual work and business unit handoffs, identifying and implementing best practices, and increasing quality and reducing costs through standardization and automation.


  • Create and facilitate Clean Energy Deployment (CED)/ Center of Excellence to maximize profitability in the group
  • Develop and facilitate a lean operational culture that pushes a highly productive workforce that is seamlessly integrated internally and with associated business units minimizing bottlenecks
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement process and methodology coordination and execution in CED operations in collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction leaders
  • Shift the group focus to project lifecycle tracking and execution excellence utilizing skillsets including training, developing, coaching, and leading in collaboration with peers
  • Work with Engineering and the Utility Scale team to assign costs and operationalize value engineering opportunities that will benefit the organization
  • Lead the automation efforts with Development, Information Technology, and Data to facilitate process and cost reduction implementation
  • Responsible for management of the Environmental Health and Safety Group composed of one (1) Director, EH&S and two (2) other EH&S professionals
  • Responsible for the management of the Pre-Deployment team composed of one (1) Director and five (5) Construction Coordinators
  • Responsible for the management of the Estimation Team composed of one (1) Manager and four (4) Estimators


The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player.

Key qualifications as follows:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in continuous process improvement
  • 5+ years cross-functional project leadership
  • 3+ years solar and/or storage field operations at DG and/or utility scale level
  • Experienced or certified in Quality or Process Excellence methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience with cross-functional project leadership including: Engineering, Procurement and Construction and with Finance, Business Development, Project Acquistions, and Asset Management
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic planning and implementation; ability to proactively anticipate and prevent problems that could result in internal and external stakeholder dissatisfaction
  • Strong management and project management skills required
  • Experience leading people and teams; 5+ years of experience 
  • Technical (Engineering, Operations Management, Mathematics, Science) Master’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
