Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on marketing professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is as comfortable designing strategies as they are deploying tactical solutions. Organized and detail-oriented, the Director, Marketing will work with all Generate’s business teams and collaborate with external stakeholders to tell Generate’s story and increase brand awareness across all technology solutions and audiences. They are a seasoned content developer who is passionate about sustainability solutions, high growth organizations and is knowledgeable about infrastructure investing. The Director, Marketing joins us from an investment firm.

What you will be doing at Generate Capital as the Director, Marketing:

  • Help refine our messaging, positioning, and brand attributes
  • Increase brand awareness across all sectors and audiences
  • Create and maintain paid and owned content assets (websites, slide decks, newsletters, brochures, case studies, white papers, videos, photos, advertising campaigns and sponsorship, etc.)
  • Develop and implement brand awareness programs and campaigns that consistently deliver high-quality touch points

  • Hire and manage vendors and partners as needed
  • Create and manage branded corporate gifts to support events and customer/partner meetings as needed
  • Ensure Generate Capital’s corporate messaging and brand guidelines are followed by all business teams
  • Maintain brand consistency across all Generate platforms (Generate Upcycle, esVolta, Ubiquity, Ambient, etc..)
  • Support Generate’s transition to new possible corporate and legal structures
  • Enforce communications requirements to comply with RIA rules and regulations

Candidate qualifications & core characteristics:

  • A demonstrated passion for, or commitment to, our mission
  • 5-8 years of experience managing content strategy and brand awareness for investment firms
  • Strong writing, editing and content development skills
  • Extensive messaging and branding experience
  • Project and stakeholder management experience
  • Successful startup or scaleup experience
  • Thorough understanding of our partners’ and customers’ needs (including project developers, solution providers, and technology vendors)
  • Experience with RIA rules and compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Experience sourcing and managing marketing and design contractors for quality and timeliness
  • A demonstrated understanding of sustainable infrastructure investing
  • Commitment to embody and enhance awareness of our values and to motivate those around you to do the same
  • Unimpeachable integrity and glowing references
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, intuition, and listening as well as strong writing, editing, and basic design skills.

Generate’s compensation packages are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  Salary decisions take into account a wide variety of factors including, but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $225,000. In addition, the compensation package may include a discretionary bonus and other benefits, including health care benefits, retirement benefits, benefits permitting paid days off (including sick leave, parental leave, and paid time off or vacation benefits), and other benefits that must be reported for federal tax purposes.  It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of this range.
