Sr. Financial Analyst

About the Role:

As a Senior Financial Analyst at AppHarvest, you will be an integral part of the Finance team assisting in the preparation of internal/external financial projections, monthly financial analysis materials, and key performance indicators (KPIs), as well as provide ad hoc analysis for the organization.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare department level, business unit level budgets and forecasts, analyze results, identify and monitor variances and anomalies, and synthesize analyses into digestible reports for business unit leaders and senior management
• Create and cultivate the financial discipline to ensure delivery of goals (e.g., budgets, productivity)
• Build and maintain financial models including the company’s short and long-term forecasts, identify trends, communicate opportunities, and initiate process improvements
• In collaboration with I.T., develop PowerBI workflows that distill raw data into actionable insights and dashboards
• Aid in the development of finance and business presentations for both internal and external parties
• Prepare industry/competitive analysis to benchmark objectives to the market
• Execute value-added analysis and provide decision support for special projects and initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus
• 3-5 years of financial analysis experience
• Expertise in building and operating complex financial models
• Experience working in Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC or similar ERP, Prophix (Reporting Tools), and PowerBI
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Organized, flexible, and easily adaptable to changing conditions
• Excellent communication skills – able to speak confidently to all levels organizationally
• Proficient in Excel and tabular modeling; VBA and Power Pivot experience a strong plus
• Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects simultaneously
