Role

The Finance Manager reports to the Director of Operations & Culture, and is responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping, accounting, invoicing and financial reporting of the business. Typical duties include creating financial analysis, budgets, and preparing financial forecasts. The Finance Manager investigates ways to improve Earth Angel’s profitability, analyze markets for business opportunities and work closely with the Director of Operations & Culture to enhance pricing models.

Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Accounting

  • Reconcile all company transactions in Quickbooks Online
  • Onboard new clients into Quickbooks Online and create invoicing schedule
  • AR - Invoice all clients and follow up on late payments
  • AP - Upload all outstanding bills and manage payments, maintain AP schedule and complete approved payments
  • Aggregate all digital and paper receipts and keep all financial documents organized
  • Ensure all timesheets/contractor invoices are collected for timely payroll.
  • Support with budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning.
  • Support with development of EA pricing model.
  • Run payroll for all subcontractors
  • Maintain tax filing and payment schedule and complete approved payments
  • Explore efficiency improvements for overall finance system 

Reporting

  • Generate weekly cash flow statements with updated AR and AP accounts
  • Generate monthly, quarterly and annual finance reports including Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flow, Budget v. Actuals and other KPIs
  • Run Client profit and loss reports upon completion of each project and update pricing model accordingly
  • Create annual operating budgets and financial forecasts with Director of Ops & Culture
  • Update operating budgeting as necessary
  • Complete client profit and loss statements and monitor margins of all service offerings
  • Generate forecasting and scenario planning reports
  • Supports ad hoc projects and accounting processes to ensure client growth

Administrative

  • Lead monthly Finance meetings 
  • Meet quarterly with CPA and coordinate tax filings
  • Attend weekly team meetings with your Supervisor to discuss your project management updates and any necessary priority shifts
  • Maintain and update file management of all Financial documents
  • Provide feedback and input on the development of new EA tools and resources

Qualifications

Required

  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online 
  • At least 2 years experience in bookkeeping, accounting and/or financial analysis
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast paced environment
  • Adaptable to constantly changing circumstances
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking capabilities
  • Experience with Google Suite (Google Drive, Google Sheets, Gmail, and Google Calendars)
  • Passion for environmental sustainability and zero waste efforts
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to to document processes
  • Collaborative and confident attitude with strong customer service approach to work
  • Ability to time manage and stay within a budget

Recommended

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) License 
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • MBA in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness and desire to grow within the company
  • Familiarity with database management

 

Details

Full time, Salary, Exempt, Remote

Location: Remote but NYC, LA, ATL preferred

Hours: 8am - 5pm ET

PTO: Up to 80 hours accrued PTO in your first year

Other: Your personal laptop and cell phone and/or tablet will be used in this role.
