Propagate Ventures makes it easy for investors to fund low-risk agroforestry projects, while helping farmers increase profitability, through our analytics & project 🚜 development platform.

In this role you’ll be leading sales for software product Overyield with a focus on farm services. Overyield makes it easy for farms to transition acreage to agroforestry. Our platform provides access to agronomic insights, technical assistance, and financing so that farms can reduce risk while integrating fruit, nut and timber trees with animal or crop farming systems.

We are looking for a hard-working Sales Development Representative to deliver scalable and repeatable sales strategies for the company. This new role focuses on inbound and outbound prospecting for our farm services solutions. You'll work closely with our VP of Sales, Farm Services team, and Sales Consultant. This is a new role.

Who you are

  • Definitive sales experience, meeting or exceeding targets, and ability to close business and build markets in agriculture.

  • Keen business sense, with the ability to find creative business-oriented solutions to problems.

  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills

  • Strong sense of honesty, high ethical standards, reliability, and trustworthiness; holding yourself mutually accountable with the team.

  • Digital literacy and proficiency in spreadsheet and CRM software is critical.

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license along with a clean driving record and must be willing to travel as needed or required.

What you’ll do

  • Source new leads and respond to inbound customer requests to attract and close new Farm Services clients (basic and advanced analysis) blueprint of a 30 year farm plan design and finances

  • Create trust with our customers to see you as a trusted source and expert in agroforestry

  • Build customer relationships by understanding their needs and objectives while working closely with our farm services to tap into their expertise

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.

  • Ensure that the CRM database (Salesforce) is up-to-date daily with prospect & client information, as well as sales activity.

  • Represent the company at trade shows and key business functions in a professional manner to generate prospects, and grow revenue opportunities.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience as a Sales Development Representative selling software as a service with outbound prospecting experience closing 5-10k/ARR deals

  • A desire to work in a founding team, with a lot of change and ambiguity

  • We're currently only accepting US-based applicants who don't require a visa

Nice to haves

  • BS/BA degree in agricultural industry or related field

  • Previous experience working in agtech or on a farm

  • Founding Sales Development Representative experience working as the first 1-5 sales hires

  • Knowledge of permanent crops and/or regenerative agriculture is a plus.

  • Bilingual or trilingual skills are a strong plus.
