Job Description

Electric Hydrogen’s mission is to create an abundant and decarbonized material future. Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels. 

As an Engineer in our Catalyst Laboratory, your mission will be to help us build, validate, and operate catalyst various synthesis equipment and associated analytical instrumentation. You will work closely with our scientists and engineers to help design the electrocatalysts for the future of water electrolyzers. We are hiring 2 candidates for this role.

You will be based onsite in our Lab in Natick, MA, and report to the Catalyst Team Director.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and characterize catalyst materials
  • Carry out a variety of laboratory experiments and operations
  • Support others in more complex laboratory tasks
  • Record results, organizing data, and performing basic computations
  • Set up and maintaining analytical equipment
  • Comply with all safety standards
  • Solve technical issues that arise within the lab

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree, or demonstrated experience
  • Experience working in a wet lab
  • Experience handling hazardous materials
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Solve commonly encountered problems
  • A passion for working on problems that will improve the world

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must work in a standing or seated position for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours
  • Significant walking or other means of mobility
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and must adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses
  • Must reach, bend, stoop, push or pull and frequently lift up to 40 pounds. Occasionally lift or move 60 pounds
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud at times
  • Must wear appropriate PPE

Compensation & Benefits

Catalyst R&D Engineer or Scientist (P4): $121,000 - $161,000 per year

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
