Job Description

Location: Fully flexible, with option of basing yourself in our Bournemouth office
Salary: £35,000 - £55,000, depending on experience

We need a dynamic, confident energy specialist to help us shape an exciting new range of services designed to help our clients’ employees reduce their energy use and lower their bills. 

You’ll play an integral role in a fun, innovative, growing business that is making an essential contribution to the fight against climate change.

About the role

You’ll work closely with our CEO to help us rapidly expand and deliver our range of employee energy services. These cover:

  • Knowledge and awareness building through a range of webinars, videos, eLearns and written content
  • Sourcing energy saving tools and equipment for employers to provide for their staff
  • Retrofit services to take the pain and uncertainty out of specifying, contracting and installing energy efficiency, generation and storage solutions.
  • Tariff switching and advisory services to help people make sure they’re on the greenest, cheapest tariff.

You’ll be involved in every aspect of building and delivering these services, including:

  • Marketing them to new clients and handling the sales process;
  • Managing client relationships to ensure smooth service delivery;
  • Content development for our webinars, eLearns, home energy reports and much more;
  • Negotiating with product suppliers to secure best value for ourselves and our clients;
  • Management of service delivery partners;
  • Shaping internal processes to ensure high quality standards are maintained;
  • Delivering webinars, talks and presentations to everyone from groups of employees to large sustainability conferences.

About you

You’re a confident communicator and an energy nerd, committed to using your skills to lower carbon emissions and fight climate change. You may well have experience as an energy assessor, retrofit coordinator or trained installer (though this isn't essential). You’re excited by the prospect of building new services that will have a real and long-lasting impact on emissions from domestic buildings. 

You’re comfortable working autonomously and thinking on your feet. You want to grow and learn, you’re happy giving and responding to feedback, and always on the lookout for new opportunities or ways the business could be improved.

Specifically, you’ll:

  • Have an unwavering desire to help save the planet
  • Have a good understanding of household energy and the energy system more broadly
  • Have finely-tuned copywriting and editing skills
  • Be able to effectively communicate complex topics simply and succinctly 
  • Be confident presenting to large audiences
  • Be highly effective at managing relationships with board-level clients
  • Be commercially-minded, with a good understanding of core business management principles
  • Have excellent office (and particularly Excel) skills
  • Have a good handle on the wider policy context within which our business operates
  • Be numerate with good analytical skills
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be proactive and results orientated
  • Have strong organisational skills, able to adapt to and manage fluctuating workloads
  • Be able to prioritise and manage your own workload with minimal supervision

Pay

£35,000 - £55,000 gross depending on experience

Hours

Full time (37.5 hours a week - or flex equivalent)

Location

Our Bournemouth office or home working. You will need to be prepared to travel for client work - many of our clients are based in London.
