Who is Bird

Bird is on a mission to bring environmentally friendly transportation to everyone. Our products, services, and people share one common goal: to make cities more livable by reducing gas-powered car usage, lowering carbon emissions, and improving the safety of all road users.

We are relentless in our pursuit of better—for our riders, for our partners, for our employees, and for future generations. Our award winning electric vehicles help millions of riders take carbon-free trips in more than 300 cities globally. And our teams push boundaries and challenge the status quo in pursuit of a brighter future.

Job Summary

The Account Management team owns relationships with our partners: cities, universities, and communities across North America. This is an opportunity to join a team with tremendous impact on the growth of Bird, carrying out Bird’s mission of making cities more liveable and easier to get around. As an Account Manager, you will serve as the main contact for our partners, managing the day-to-day relationship with cities, and working heavily cross-functionally with internal partners to drive operational excellence, as well as to ensure the retention and growth of the Bird program.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with our Cities & Universities, as the main contact externally, and internal point person within Bird.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Product, Legal and Brand teams to ensure city compliance as well as the growth of the Bird program.
  • Work alongside Strategy Leads to facilitate the suitable regulatory frameworks for Bird to operate in each market within their portfolio, working to optimize the regulatory environment for Bird.
  • Assist the team in any RFP application processes, participating in any RFP presentations for interviews
  • Build relationships externally within the cities Bird operates, strengthening community ties, supporting safety events, as well as working with community orgs to promote the Bird program.
  • Ensure & manage the full launch of the Bird program in new cities as the “project manager” internally for new city launches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3-5+ years progressive experience in Sales, Account Management or a Government Relations role
  • Open to travel as necessary to meet with City stakeholders and to support community event and helmet giveaways.
  • Experienced public speaker, comfortable communicating your message and responding to tough questions from all audiences- from community groups to high-ranking elected officials.
  • Ability to think on your feet- to quickly synthesize and respond to new information while also continuing to drive your priorities- both one-on-one or when presenting publicly.
  • Ability to be highly responsive and willing to work flexible hours, an ability to lead and manage shifting assignments and multiple projects at the same time is a must.
