In addition to its climate mission, the company is focused on social and economic impact. It is incorporated as a Delaware Public Benefits Corporation and will apply for B Corp status. Additionally, it is our goal to recruit a diverse senior leadership team focused on creating equal opportunity for those from all backgrounds and experiences. Climate change is a universal issue; we need a team that brings a diversity of perspectives and experiences to build the foundations and future of our company.

CEO: CEO has previously had a very successful exit in another industry, has served on numerous boards, and worked in private equity. He is a former U.S. Marine officer, a McKinsey alumnus, and is a graduate of Wharton, Harvard, and Georgetown.

Ideal Solar Partnership Lead: Ideal solar leader has a record of success, deep knowledge of the solar industry and its players, and a passion to apply that knowledge to the fight against climate change. She or he must be eager to take on the challenge of building and scaling a business that will have a significant environmental, social, and economic impact.

Role:

  • Responsibilities
    • Build and lead partnership strategy within the solar industry, including solar companies, installers, financiers, etc.
    • Lead and grow team as needed
    • Work with CEO on various aspects of growing and scaling a new business
  • Time commitment: Initially full or part-time but the candidate must be willing and able to convert to full-time quickly as the business begins to gain traction.
  • Compensation: Significant equity and some cash compensation (to be discussed during initial conversations)
  • Location: Remote/virtual (CEO located in Greater Boston)
  • Title: To be discussed but something senior, potentially CXO, since this will be a pivotal role in the company; candidate can help shape title and role based on background and preferences.

Requirements:

  • Strong solar industry experience
  • Minimum of several years of professional experience and/or a relevant advanced degree
  • Ability to start immediately and the flexibility to work with the CEO, putting in the hours necessary to move the business forward before transitioning to full-time

Potential roles possible for candidates with similar skill sets but earlier in their careers, so please feel free to apply! People with backgrounds which are traditionally underrepresented in the startup world are especially encouraged to apply. Military veterans are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Please send resume and cover letter to: hiring@buildgreengrid.com
