Role DescriptionWe are looking for a highly driven BIM-VDC engineer to lead the BIM planning and execution for our first-in-kind battery factory and beyond. This is an exciting opportunity to start from a blank slate and establish the digital twin of our FormFactory, integrating both infrastructure and manufacturing equipment needed to achieve the most advanced high-volume battery manufacturing in the world.  This opportunity is based out of the Greater Pittsburgh Area

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the BIM discipline and own the digital delivery of the FormFactory including infrastructure, utilities, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Establish the organizational setup and way of working to enable the cross functional teams to be effectively coordinated from conceptual, detailed design, construction and hand over.
  • Orchestrate the factory federated model (Digital Twin). 
  • Build automation tools to increase efficiency of the engineering disciplines.
  • Coordinate the model produced by the Design Team, Trade Contractors, and other third-party vendors under their direction.
  • Responsible for clash-detection evaluation of design model vs construction/manufacturing models to verity constructability.
  • Leading 3D modeling within design coordination and design review meetings.
  • Develop and maintain Technology Standards & Processes. 
  • Investigate new software and technology to improve design deliverables, reduce cost and drive efficiency.
  • Support construction tracking through BIM.

What You'll Bring:

  • 8+ years of BIM/VDC engineering and construction experience in large commercial and industrial infrastructure (e.g., high volume manufacturing, data centers, hospitals, dense MEP environments).
  • Architectural, structural, MEP knowledge and construction detailing & coordination experience.
  • Knowledge with Revit, BIM 360, AutoCAD, Navisworks, all Autodesk software and reality capture applications.
  • Experience managing drawing sets and templates for construction deliverables.
  • Experience with coding, visual programming (C#, Python, Dynamo), and database integrations are preferred.
  • Experience interfacing with construction and cost control on quantity takeoffs and alignment between Work Breakdown Structure based cost tracking using BIM parameter.
  • Exceptional drive, sense of ownership and resourcefulness.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
