Role Description
We are looking for a highly driven technical leader who will drive the industrialization & execution of our battery manufacturing programs from factory concept to operations. You will lead the cross functional teams to design & execute on our factory and manufacturing systems as a fully integrated product. You will own the factory industrial design, plan of record, cross functional integration, consolidated plans and harmonious execution with the goal to deliver world class factories.This role requires a strong manufacturing & industrial experience, an organized mindset, a passion for launching new technologies, and an unparalleled ability to pull people together to make things happen. You are an extension of the senior leadership team and will drive collaboration between Design Engineering, Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, Factory Engineering and Production to ensure our manufacturing plans are aligned and critical paths are tackled as effectively as possible.

This opportunity is based out of the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Relocation assistance available.


What You'll Do:

  • Own the factory design, industrialization and cross functional integration to deliver the factory as a Product.
  • Act as the product chief engineer for the factory. Develop industrial KPIs and optimize every aspect of its design & execution. Navigate the tradeoffs between equipment, material flow, people flow, level of automation, product design, supply chain and operations.
  • Drive the factory densification and overall efficiency efforts. Own material flow equipment and processes.
  • Drive the cross-functional team to ensure successful launch of our first-in-kind battery manufacturing program and beyond.
  • Own the program schedule, roadmap, risks, escalations. You will bring clarity and drive action on program critical paths and will prepare roll-up information for senior leadership.
  • Provide technical leadership and project management skills to identify creative and timely solutions to key program challenges. 
  • Collaborate with various teams to develop novel and complex automation equipment.
  • Identify team priorities and motivate the project team to complete critical tasks.
  • Drive action with internal and cross-functional teams to complete projects within time and resource constraints.

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience delivering large manufacturing projects that involve designing, installing and launching high-volume manufacturing lines with focus on industrial and manufacturing engineering.
  • Expertise in manufacturing & industrial engineering, production, infrastructure builds and new product introduction environment.
  • Strong experience designing and launching high volume manufacturing factories.
  • Ability to distill concise and actionable path forward out of complex and ambiguous reality.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, leadership, interpersonal and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience managing conflicting objectives and compressed timelines in high-volume manufacturing.
  • Exceptional drive, sense of ownership and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and in ambiguous environments with shifting priorities.
