Job Description

EnergyHub empowers utilities and their customers to create a clean, distributed energy future. We help consumers turn their smart thermostats, EVs, batteries, and other products into virtual power plants that keep the grid stable and enable higher penetration of solar and wind power.

Our team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive internal projects on the 100+ person Product and Engineering team. We are looking for a candidate who excels at managing a portfolio of complex projects and who is able to combine experience and creativity to guide the team to success.

To excel in this role, you must be highly organized and possess the communication skills to effectively convey complex topics to stakeholders with varying concerns and contexts. You should have experience leading multi-team projects. You should have the technical background to engage in insightful discussions with our Engineering teams about application systems, requirements, and development strategies. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, your role will encompass internal project leadership, guiding teams concerned with maintainability, quality and sustainable growth.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire existing high-performing teams on mission-critical projects
  • Convert foundational planning into an overall plan including dependency management and delivery timelines spanning multiple teams
  • Use your organizational mindset to ensure smooth day-to-day activities, and your sound judgment to recommend course corrections when required
  • Work with team members to create a project plan detailing delivery scope, timeline, level of effort, and cost. Identify critical product and process dependencies and their impact on project success
  • Monitor and communicate changes or deviations from the plan to management and across the Engineering organization and with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Support the development of an engineering metrics operation and develop standards for using metrics to communicate capacity, investment and results
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Skills and Experience

  • Expertise in program and project management, internal/external communication, and project monitoring
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues/needs in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to influence and advocate change
  • A strong knowledge of software build and delivery strategies
  • Ability to drive project quality, process improvement, and efficient delivery

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • A working knowledge of the Utilities industry and facilitating business processes
  • Experience working with a SaaS product

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
